He would need to thank Avery for suggesting the temps from Spellbound to come in and help. If he hadn’t, Dorian might nothave ever found Kian. And there wasn’t a better mate on the planet for him.

“Want to find out?”

EPILOGUE

After Dorian was all healed up and allowed to get back to work, Kian decided to make good on a promise he’d made him that first week together. Harlem had come to visit after finding out about Dorian’s accident and had teased him plenty to lighten the mood. While Kian appreciated the kitsune’s attempt to make Dorian feel better, he still wanted a little payback. So he dragged Dorian across town ‘for lunch’, heading straight for the address Morgan had given him for his last temp job.

It was pure luck that Harlem and his boyfriend stepped out of his business right as they were walking past. It was almost as if Kian knew when Harlem was going to meet the man for lunch.

Did Harlem leave his phone unattended while he was visiting the other night? Whoops.

Kian snickered to himself, schooling his face as they came within range of the couple. “Harlem?” he asked innocently.

Harlem froze and turned around slowly. His face turned bright red when he noticed Kian and Dorian standing a few feet away.

“K-Kian! Dorian! What… What are you doing out here?”

“Scoping out new places for lunch,” Kian explained with a grin. “I’ve heard good things about the seafood restaurants in the area.”

Lie. He didn't actually care. He didn’t eat fish. But he might’ve heard Avery mention something in the area, and decided to use it as an excuse.

The werewolf standing beside Harlem looked curiously between them, head cocked in question. “Harlem?”

Harlem jumped, his expression panicked as he introduced them. “Ronan, these are friends of mine. Kian and Dorian.”

“Dorian?” Ronan repeated slowly. “The vampire you used to feed?”

“The very one,” Dorian said, finally joining the conversation. He offered Ronan a hand to shake. “Nice to meet you.”

Harlem chewed his lip, looking between Kian and Dorian. He was worried they were going to say something. He was right to worry.

“Did you get the gift Dorian sent you as an apology for breaking the contract early? I thought it was a little much, but you know him,” Kian shrugged.

“Present?” Ronan asked. He didn’t look the least bit put out about Dorian sending gifts, which was a point in his favor. If he got all jealous and weird, then Kian would steer Harlem in a different direction. He deserved a good partner.

Harlem forced out a laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. “Ha ha, yeah. Dorian was just being nice, since the contract was canceled early.”

“What kind of gift?”

Harlem’s face flushed. “U-Uh… It was nothing…”

Kian leaned against Dorian, muttering under his breath just loud enough that a werewolf would overhear him. “Pretty expensive for ‘nothing’ don’t you think?”

Dorian shook his head with a smirk. “That’s my fault entirely. I’ve spoiled him too much.”

“Ah, true,” Kian nodded in agreement.

At this point, Harlem’s face was so red, there was steam coming out of his ears. He did seem to catch on about what they were doing though.

“Kian!” he snapped, stamping his foot. “You’re mean!”

“What?” Kian asked innocently, batting his eyes. “I feel like your new beau should know how to treat you. There’s nothing wrong with being spoiled. I love spoiling Dorian.”

Much to the vampire’s chagrin. He was so used to giving to others, he got a little out of sorts when Kian did something nice for him. Like buy him miniatures of all his cars and line them up on the mantel. Dorian hovered around that display a lot, smiling at them.

Ronan’s lips twitched, and he raised an eyebrow at Kian. “What did he do to piss you off?”

Kian grinned wickedly. “Called my mate old. Since we’re close to the same age, I took offense.”
