Jaylen sighed, reached for her, and brought her back against his chest.

“You need to tell me how much experience you’ve had and when was the last time you’ve had sex.I’m considerably bigger than you, Honey, and I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Do we really have to talk about this?”she asked, embarrassed.

He nodded.“Yes.”

Her head dropped down, and her gaze stayed on his chest, unable to look him in the eyes.

“Um, I’ve had sex a few times, and it was my freshman year in college, and I was engaged to a man.”

Jaylen’s eyebrows rose, and something twisted in his chest at the thought that there had been a chance he wouldn’t have had this opportunity, and she wouldn’t have been his.He knew he would not have known her because their paths had zero chance of crossing, but even if he hadn’t known her, Jaylen knew he wouldn’t have found anyone who matched her.

“Where is he now?”he asked as he ran his hand up and down her back.

“He ...we broke it off.”

“How long ago was that?”

“Two years.I graduated from high school when I was seventeen and went to college right after.”Amelia looked down.“I don’t know why we have to talk about this,” she whispered in distress.

“Why did it end?”The relief that she was undeniably single made him feel lightheaded. In a short amount of time, this woman made his life feel like a roller coaster, but she’d already become a big part of his future.

Amelia shook her head and tried to pull away from his arms.

“I don’t want to talk about this now. Please,” she begged as she gripped the front of his poncho.“I don’t know why you even brought it up.”

“Because, Sweetheart, I’m pretty sure we’ll be in bed together damn quickly, and I want to know what I’m going to have to deal with.”

Amelia’s breath snagged in her throat, and she rolled her eyes.

“Jeeze, Jaylen.Aren’t you going a little fast?We just met, for God’s sake.”

Jaylen nodded.“Yeah, I am.I just know I won’t be able to hold back much longer.”

“But we’ve only known each other a day, if that.”

He smiled gently at her and swept the hair off her cheek.

“Yes, but can you honestly tell me you don’t feel the strong pull between us?”

Amelia threw her hands out in irritation.

“You know I do, but that doesn’t mean we have to give in.”

“You’re right, we don’t, but you promised we’d try this for a month.”

“I didn’t mean sex right off the bat.”

Jaylen took a step back and crossed his arms.

“Can you tell me you don’t want to touch me or have my hands on you?Because if I’m feeling this strongly after one day, I can’t imagine making it a few more days, much less a month.”

Amelia’s shoulders dropped.

“No, I want to touch you...”

Relief washed over him.“And?”he tenderly prompted when she paused.
