Squeezing her tightly again, he rested his cheek against the top of her hair, taking a second to breathe.

Taking a second to be thankful she hadn’t been violated or seriously injured.

Thank fuckin’ fuck.

It didn’t matter that she wasn’t physically hurt, the rat bastard touched what was Stone’s.

The fuck if he would touch anything again after today.

“You’re okay,” he assured her when she wrapped her arms around his waist and smashed her damp face between the flaps of his cut and against his gut. He stroked her hair, pushing it out of her face. “Gonna take you home, yeah?”

She hiccup-sobbed but nodded.

Her phone appeared in front of his face. He took it from Bones and tucked it into his cut. He didn’t want to give it back to Sunny until he scrubbed the fucking thing clean of the texts going back and forth between him and Gentry.

He glanced over at Ogre, still standing over Gentry. “Take him to the garage. Takin’ Sunny home, then gonna meet you there.”

The sergeant at arms gave him a chin lift and his lips tilted upward.

That particular smirk would make most men shit their pants.

But it wasn’t Ogre the bound asshole had to worry about.

Stone really didn’t wantto let his daughter out of his sight, but he needed to get to the garage. He had three important roles to step into.

Judge, jury, and executioner.

If he stayed with her and let his brothers handle it, he wouldn’t be any good to Sunny, anyway. He’d be distracted and restless until he knew Gentry had taken his last goddamn breath.

As soon as he pulled into the driveway, the rear screen door was shoved open so hard it slammed against the house’s siding. Taryn raced down the deck steps, through the gate, and over to his sled.

Questions filled her face and concern was visible in hereyes, but he didn’t have time to explain shit. He needed to get shit done so he could return as quickly as possible to help Sunny deal with the aftermath of her goddamn kidnapping.

He helped his kid off his Harley. “You good?”

“Dad, who was he and why did he do that?”

It killed him that her voice still trembled. Hearing that along with seeing her face ravaged from all the crying raised his rage to epic fucking levels. He forced himself to swallow it back down. He’d save it for Vic the Dick. “Gonna talk about it later, yeah? Go with Taryn for now. She’s gonna take care of you ’til I get back.”

“I don’t want you to go!” she cried out, snapping his black fucking heart in two.

“I know, baby girl.” When he held out his hand to her, she took it and he pulled her closer, pressing a kiss to her forehead while murmuring. “Promise to be back soon.”

He lifted his gaze over her head to Taryn, waiting just a few feet away, wringing her hands and looking anxious. After he gave her a stiff chin lift, she rushed over, gathered Sunny in her arms and held her tight while rocking her back and forth. “I’ve got you, baby.” He didn’t miss that her eyes held a sheen and her voice was thick when she assured him, “I have her.”

He gave her a single nod. “Gotta go take care of fuckin’ business.” He reached over and tucked his finger beneath Sunny’s trembling chin and lifted it. “Be back soon. You listen to Taryn, you hear?”

Sunny, her red eyes and nose swollen and running, nodded. Her voice cracked when she said, “Okay, Dad.”

Thank fuck she wasn’t being her normal obstinate self today. She didn’t even pull away from Taryn. Instead, she snuggled closer.

Damn.

The anger he had directed at Taryn earlier was now focused on the man waiting for him at the chop shop.

Seconds later, he was racing off. His fingers itched as he twisted the throttle. His fury rose even higher with every rotation of his sled’s wheels.

One thing was on his mind…
