“Not sure what you mean. Far as I know, my sperm donor went out for milk and never came home. Guess he didn’t want the responsibility of a family no more.”
“Oh. I?—”
“Don’t ask that shit again,” he said softly. “About my father or Baby Bird’s. Ain’t anythin’ you need to know. Same as club business. If there’s somethin’ you need to know, gonna tell you. You don’t, I won’t. Better to be clueless in case shit ever goes down with the pigs.”
She nodded. “Got it.”
Good lord, she was really going to live the biker life.
Willingly.
It wasn’t a life she would’ve ever chosen, but it just happened to be tied to the man she did choose.
Some might tell her this would be a big mistake. Hopefully, she’d made enough of them to know that this time it wouldn’t be.
It seemed different this time.
The idea of spending the rest of her life with this man settled her soul.
Fate had led Stone to her in that parking lot. Fate had led Taryn to find him at The Castle.
She had to trust in fate.
Epilogue
When The Stone Stops Rolling
“All right.I’m heading over to The Castle to shoot some new tutorials and catch up on a couple of meal prep orders. I also have a private dinner scheduled at five. Can you run the kids to and from school today?”
Stone’s eyes tracked her as she talked and walked at the same time. Without stopping, she disappeared out the bedroom door.
What the fuck?
“Yo!”
She peeked her blonde head back around the door. Her blue eyes were wide. “What?”
This better be a fucking joke. “Forget somethin’?” he grumbled and pulled himself up into a seated position against the headboard.
Her brow furrowed. “No?”
“Sure?”
“I guess not.” One eyebrow rose. “Is it important?”
Was she fucking serious? “Fuck yeah, it is.”
She came around the door with a confused expression. “What did I forget?”
Apparently, a reminder was needed. “What do I own?”
“A Harley? An old truck?” She shot him a bright smile that woke up his dick. “My heart?”
He liked hearing that last one but it wasn’t the answer he was looking for. He curled his index finger in acome heremotion. “Mouth.”
She came over, leaned in and did a light lip touch.
“Woman,” he growled, grabbing her hips and pulling her off balance and on top of him.
