“He was going to kill Keir in front of me. I distracted him by getting on my knees and jerking him off. Owen thought he’d won and began gloating to Keir. I used the distraction to pull out the knife he hadn’t bothered to search for and cut off his dick. Then we ran.”

“I returned with the RPG to destroy the farmhouse,” Keir added, as Finnan nodded like he already knew that part.

“And you’re sure Owen was acting alone, apart from the Caddie? He didn’t have any affiliations with any other clan?”

I thought hard as both men looked at me. “He mentioned no one else.”

Finnan slumped back into his chair, his gaze fixed on my face. “You’ve proven your loyalty to the clan. Keir wants you to remain under our protection. I’d be willing to grant thatifyou agree to becoming our clan’s medic.”

I looked over at Keir, then back at the Clan Boss. “What about Fallon?”

“We’ll keep you both,” Finnan replied.

“She’s nothing to me,” Keir said at the same time.

My gaze bounced between the men, both clearly talking about something different. I would deal with Keir’s admission later. To Finnan, I replied, “I accept under one condition.”

His jaw tensed. “You’re not really in the position to be making demands.”

“I know, but I eliminated an enemy and brought you a bargaining chip in Mila.”

He huffed out a laugh. “Name it.”

“Orla and I stay together. We were separated for too long because of my actions. We can stay together now because of them.”

Finnan seemed to think about it for a moment before leaning forward in his chair and extending his hand. “Deal.”

Chapter 29

Keir

Relief coursed through me as we left Finnan’s office and made our way down the hall toward the stairs. Molly would be safe from any blowback that might come from Owen’s death. Her bombshell about who had really sent the bullet still sent shockwaves through me. If Owen had been successful in breaking away from his father’s clan, he could’ve started a civil war. All the allies of the Sionnach Clan would’ve had to pick a side, while all their enemies would’ve picked the meat off the bones once it was done.

“Jynx, let’s go to bed,” I murmured as we passed my—our—room.

She flicked me a glance that traveled from my face to my hands. “If you fuck me again?—”

“WhenI fuck you again,” I corrected on a growl.

Her cheeks flushed. “You still want me after everything I’ve done?”

“You couldn’t stop me from wanting you.”

She sobered. “Why do you call me Jynx?”

I huffed a laugh, I’d been wondering when this question was going to come up again. “Because after we fucked in my Roverthat first time, you became my Jynx. Everything went to hell, and it was all because of you.”

She peered up at me. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be, baby. Your brand of crazy is exactly what I need in my life.Youare what I want in my life.”

A small smile tugged at her lips. “I’m going to need your hands on me when we finally make love again, so we need to see Fallon.”

“All I need is my tongue, Jynx,” I growled playfully.

“Nurse’s orders.” Laughter danced in her blue eyes.

Reluctantly, I agreed. We continued down the hall and descended the stairs, making our way into the kitchen. Fallon still had the medical supplies out on the bench, but she was now beating something in a bowl, while Mila melted butter in a skillet, and Orla sliced up fruit.
