“Sure. I even have to get a small speaker instead of earphones. That way we can have several people listening to music at the same time.”
“Lokk, we have to find a cave to spend the night in and to put her under the shelter of the storm that’s coming. We shall take again our flight tomorrow.”I say mentally.
Sarah continues to talk to me about music, songs she loves, and different instruments that exist in her world to make music. You can tell she loves it. She's so focused on her subject that she's no longer tense about flying.
I like to see her like this with her eyes glowing with pleasure. It stirs something in me, a feeling of truth; she is in my arms and she is happy.
A heavy rumble is heard and the smell of the air changes, announcing the imminent rain.
“Nixx, on the right, this rock face with a cave!” Lokkindicates to me.
“Sarah, we will have to take shelter for the night to avoid the coming storm.”
“OK,” she answers me in a small voice.
She is again all tense in my arms. Come on, she's even afraid of a simple storm? But why did the Winds have the bad idea to put this female in my way? I shake my head in disappointment. I land at the entrance of this cave where Lokk has preceded us.
“It's okay, it's empty. I'll get us some food before it fizzles out,” he says.
“OK! And I'll get some wood to make a small fire.”
Lokk and I don't really need a fire. We can see enough, even at night and we don't suffer from the cooler temperatures in the morning because of our feathers. But we noticed that the humans made them every night. I decide to do the same to reassure her.
Lokk and I leave the cave, leaving Sarah alone.
I come back ten minutes later, arms loaded with kindling and find a trembling Sarah with a pale aura. I see, she is petrified with worry. No, I don't see. The cave is empty, with no danger on the horizon. I don't understand why she is in this state. What did she fear?
“Sarah? What's wrong?” I ask her.
“Nothing, everything is fine!” she lies to me openly.
I decide not to notice her incoherent behavior and prepare a small fire while Lokk returns with some fruits. We share the last meal in silence and watch Sarah lying down near the fire to sleep.
In the light of the flames, her shimmering hair reflects rays of gold and copper. What beautiful hair she has! What a pity that this female is unsuited to my world. For if her weaknesses are obvious, she has undeniable qualities.
I'm not just talking about her physical appearance, which although different from the women of Eris, has a strong attraction to me. I'm talking about her loyalty to her friends and the respect they show her speaks volumes!
I admire the features of her face, relaxed during her sleep. Unlike the night before, she has a peaceful sleep.
“Do you want to talk about it?”Lokk asks me.
“Good night, Lokk!”
I lie down and wrap my wings around me.
“If you change your mind, I'm still your friend,”he insists, lying down for the night as well.
“Got it. Let's sleep now!”
The cave is in altitude and the slope of this rocky peak is too steep for access from the predators. We can relax our vigilance for this night. I fall asleep thinking of jade eyes.

The first light of dawn appears in our shelter. Sarah's face is tense. The night storm has saturated the air with the smell of earth and humus. It is time to get back on the road. We take a first frugal meal, composed of fruits only and take the road again. We should be there at the end of the morning.
A few kilometers away, we find a small lake in a clearing that should allow us to have a quick wash, without taking too many risks. We land there for a quick stop.
“Sarah, you're not leaving my side. The place is not safe. Lokk will cool off quickly, then you and I will do it last.”
