It's been six days since we left the Heart of the Western Bastion to go to the Middle Lands. Six days of emotional dearth.

Yes, my daughter, what did you think? Did you think you were on your honeymoon? You saw yourself flying through the sunset, in the arms of a beautiful dark angel, who would swoon with love? Would the flowers open up to give you their enchanting scents? The families of little babakotias would have come to pay their respects to you?

The sad reality is quite different indeed. Freezing showers, despite the relative protection of Nixx's hydrophobic wings.

Difficult nights, lying on a giant water lily leaf fifty meters high and the possibility of falling from this uncertain perch, even though Nixx has assured me that we are not at risk.

No shower or bath, a basic toilet with a little rainwater. Fruits, fruits, and more fruits! But where are the pizzas?

Conversations were reduced to a minimum although I suspect Nixx continues to have mental conversations with his men.

Big, shady, curious insects seem to lurk in every corner and appear as soon as Nixx drops us off somewhere to take a rest.

Ah, it's Eva who must be happy, we can't say that I skimp on the number of bugs to add to her damn inventory! I can't stand this never-ending jungle anymore!

According to Nixx, we are arriving on the great plains of the Middle Lands. We'll finally be able to swap the dense and crawling trees for desert plains, if I understood correctly.

Nixx and Lokk seem to have well understood my morose state of mind and limit the conversation to the bare necessities. On the cuddly side, we don't do better of course.

Well yes, my girl, what did you think too? That Nixx was going to honor you without fail and only a few meters away from his friend? Get used to the fact that trifles and the jungle don't mix! And stay professional and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to discover another world in its most primitive version!

Oh, dear, why did I go with him in this mess? Oh yes, I remember. Because I'm a fragile little human and he wants to keep an eye on me to protect me from anything that could hurt me.

I'm tired, I'm hungry, I'm tired of these nights without rest, I smell bad, I feel ugly, I feel abandoned by my man. Ah, but when are we coming?

“Kitten, we arrive soon at the edge of the forest and we will attack the big plains of the center. There is a lake on the edge. We'll stop there to take a bath. You don't look too good lately. I'm sorry I couldn't make you comfortable enough.”

“No worries Nixx, it's all good, it wasn't that hard.”

Liar! “But, I happily accept the idea of a bath, for a complete wash.”

We arrive indeed in a clearing, very sparse on one side, which appears as burned lands as far as the eye can see. Will I really prefer this? Nothing is less sure. But in the immediate future, the bath.

Lokk, who preceded us and took a quick bath, announces to us that he leaves in search of what to eat. Great, we are going to eat fruits again? I can't stand fruit anymore!

I quickly undress and immerse myself in this emerald lake, at the ideal temperature. Humm, what a delight. I wash my hair for a long time and untangle it with a comb that Nixx gave me. It is absolute happiness. It's crazy how much better we feel when we are clean!

I suddenly froze under Nixx’s incandescent gaze, a few steps away from me. Lost in the excitement of this bath, I didn't realize I was letting out little moans of happiness. Oops.

Nixx doesn't seem to have missed any of them. He slowly approaches me, his burning liquid gold eyes locked on mine. His hand rests on my cheek, his fingers reach behind my head and tilt it back as his lips melt over mine.

I press my body against his and lose myself in a feverish frenzy to touch him, to caress him . . . with my hands . . . with my lips . . . with my body. Without delay, Nixx lifts me up and finally penetrates me, letting our bodies meet again and again.

Our hearts race in a shared rhythm as an indescribable tension builds inside me. His mouth finds its way to my neck . . . to his mark. And when his teeth sink more firmly into my neck, I explode in magnificent agony.

There you go my girl, it's better, you're more relaxed now? You've become a real Nixx-addict who grumbles like crazy when you haven't had your dose!

The satisfied look of Nixx does not deceive either. He too appreciates this newfound intimacy.

“Do you feel better after this bath?” he asks me, my beautiful angel after a few moments.

His tone is amused, but his look full of tenderness tells me all the concern he has for our travel conditions these last days.

“Yes, thank you. The bath was perfect.”

“Let's go out and get dressed. Lokk found something to eat and quickly joined us.”

We get ready quickly and I observe my new surroundings more carefully, now that I am clean and rested . . . and fulfilled.
