Perhaps she wasn’t cut out for success?
“Can I see some of the paintings?” asked Miguel after a moment.
“Oh, of course.” Lynn reached down to grab the portfolio she’d put together.
Miguel flipped through, smiling and remarking on the various effects.
When he got to her sailboat painting, he let out a sigh. “This one. Just gorgeous.”
She leaned in, smiling. “I’m afraid that one already has a tentative buyer.”
He sighed. “What a shame. Would you still be willing to display it? It really adds to the overall feeling.”
“Of course. I’d be happy to.”
He smiled. “Excellent. Let me make some notes about the pieces we’d like to see at Stormy Gallery, and I can arrange for transportation.”
“Okay, wonderful!”
Lynn felt like she was dreaming. She fully assumed she’d be driving all of these paintings down in the back of her car.
Maybe success wouldn’t be so hard to get used to.
