“It’s your fault this is happening. You know that?”
She didn’t respond. The distinct sound of a car pulling up to the cabin filled the silence.
Lenny seemed to relax, straightening his hair and tucking the gun away. “Because I’m a gentleman, I’m not gonna be the one to hurt you.”
A gentleman.Ha.
This was it, though. It was over. If she couldn’t overpower one man, she definitely couldn’t overpower two.
She had the panicked thought of grabbing the gun from him, but within seconds, the front door opened. It was too late. Lynn wanted to close her eyes, but she couldn’t look away. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
Lenny turned around. “Gary! What are – ”
Mike closed the distance between them in seconds, landing a punch square in the side of Lenny’s head.
Lenny fell, out cold, onto the floor.
