“I like thishere and nowthing. Makes everything simpler. I don’t have to worry about tomorrow. About what happens after this trip. My job. Or anything. Just us. Whatever ‘us’ means.”
“It means fucking in the sand,” I say with a smirk. “It means making me addicted to your body. Goddamn, that was heaven.”
“I’m going to say something that might stroke your already inflated ego,” she murmurs.
I place my hand on my chest. “My ego.”
She laughs as she grabs her shorts and pulls them on, fixes her bra, then looks around for her shirt. I grab my shorts and briefs and pull them on.
“I’m waiting…” I say.
“That was…”
“It was the best sex I ever had,” I tell her. “So, if that’s where you’re going–hey, I shot first.”
“It was,” she says. “Was it really for you too?”
“Hands down. I’m getting hard just thinking about it. Just looking at you.”
She wriggles into her shirt. “You are?”
I grab her wrist, guiding her hand to my crotch. She bites down, moaning, stroking up and down my pole for a few moments before taking a step back like she doesn’t trust herself.
“When I said you’re big, I wasn’t kidding. I need a little rest.”
I wrap my arm around her. “Then let’s go, angel. Let’s rest. In my room.”
“You want me to stay with you?”
“Until this is over, I’m not letting you out of my sight… if you’ll have me.”
“Have you?” She mutters.
“Here. Now. Tonight.”
She squeezes me. “Okay–yeah.”
CHAPTER 31
SIENA
Ilie in his arms, in his bed, my cheek resting against his chest as I listen to his heartbeat. We’ve been lying like this for almost an hour. I’m not sure if he’s asleep, but I don’t want to drift off, not yet. I want to savor this feeling of peace, of not worrying about the future.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks softly.
I smile, wriggling closer to him. My body aches contentedly, sore but pleasant.
“That running away from you is getting harder every single time we see each other.”
“I solved that problem the day we met, Siena. I never started running.”
“You did–toward me.” I prod him playfully in the chest. “Like an eager dog.”
“I’m taking that as a compliment,” he says. “It shows that when I want something, I don’t quit.”
“You got what you wanted,” I murmur.
“Are you going to start that hookup talk again?”
