“See?” She places the paper in front of me, and her hair falls forward, grazing my shoulder. “Eighty thousand in bale orders—which we have—but…”

The rest of her words come in muted, and I have no idea what she’s saying. All I can see are her lips parting, begging me to let her come while I’m buried deep inside her.

“Mr. Pearson?” A deep voice obliterates my fantasy, and I look over at the door.

It’s Brian, and he’s armed with a massive yellow and red flower bouquet.

“Come in, Brian,” I say, and Kendall moves her work—and her lips—far away from me.

“I remembered you saying that Miss Clarke was working with you here now, and these were delivered to her desk yesterday afternoon.” He places the blooms on my coffee table. “I’ll be sure to route any future mailings and deliveries up here, Miss Clarke.”

“Thank you, Mister Brian.”

“It’s just Brian.” He smiles at her—really smiles at her, and I narrow my eyes at the sealed envelope dangling from the stems.

“Can I speak to you in private, Brian?” I start walking away before he can answer.

He shuts my door when he makes it into the hall.

“How may I help you, sir?” he asks.

“You can stop looking at Miss Clarke like you’ve never seen a sexy woman before.”

He tilts his head, looking confused.

“You can also tell me who those flowers are from,” I say. “You didn’t mention a boyfriend when I asked you to do your due diligence.”

He blinks.

“Talk, Brian,” I demand. “Talk to me now.”

“I’m surprised that you’re the jealous type, sir.” He smiles. “I can assure you that I’m not interested in Miss Clarke at all, but her smile is infectious. I was simply returning the one she gave me.”

“Does she have a boyfriend?”

“Would you feel threatened if she did?”

Not at all. “Answer my question.”

“I’m going to go do some real work, sir.” He steps back. “I believe it wasyouwho said we don’t have any seconds to waste on anything outside the IPO, just this morning, correct?”

“Don’t make me fire you over something this simple, Brian.”

“You can’t afford to.” He smiles and steps back again. “I’ll see you at lunch with the C-Suite team.”

He walks away without another word, and I return to my desk.

Kendall is now sitting on the edge of my desk, a thicker pen pressed between her lips. Her eyes meet mine, and my cock stiffens in my pants.

“I found something else,” she says. “Can you help me come?”

“What?”

“Can you come here and help me?” she repeats.

“No.” I turn away. “I’ll be back later, Miss Clarke.” I grab a stack of files and walk to the other side of my office.
