“Ty, it's too early for a to-do list,” I mumble, barely conscious. “And I don’t understand half of what you just said.”

There’s shuffling behind me before I’m being turned onto my back. In the night I must’ve turned over since Ty is now at my back instead of me being snuggled into his chest.

Confused eyes stare down at me from the now dim light of the dying fire. Either the sun hasn’t risen yet or the shadows are so thick across the entrance they’re blocking out the natural light.

“I wasn’t talking…”

‘Oh, Henry. Need to discuss him joining us.’

“What?!” I sit up, pulling the blankets with me, staring wide eyed down at my mate.

My mate… Gods, I already love referring to him as that.

“You can call me that anytime, anyplace, Red.” Ty lifts a hand to my neck, to the mark he left on my skin last night. It's less sensitive now but still sends shivers down my spine at his touch.

“I didn’t call you anything.”Out loud at least.“I want to know what you mean by Henry joining us.”

My head pangs and I feel the thread of the mate bond pull in worry. Ty’s worry. I take a deep breath, exhaling it slowly.

“What’s going on here?” I ask.

“What do you mean?” Concern etching onto his face. “Do you feel unwell?”

‘Oh gods, is she sick? Did I drink too much blood to form the bond?’

His words careen through my head but his lips aren’t moving.

Holy fuck.

‘Ty, can we hear each other’s thoughts?’I have no idea what I’m doing but I think about the question clearly and imagine firing it at the bond.

Ty’s head cocks and his brows knit.

“I think…” he starts saying until I slap a hand over his mouth.

“Think it,” I order him.

‘I think… holy fuck, I think you might be right.’His voice comes through clear in my mind as his eyes round. I drop my hand, putting it on his side instead, still needing to touch him.

‘We’ve been given telepathy with the mate bond?’I ask like I don’t know, I’d read the passages about it but still didn’t expect it. It’s the rarer of the mate gifts.

A huge grin splits across Ty’s face, all fear and hesitance gone.‘It seems so. This is going to be fun.’

‘How have you stopped freaking out already?’

‘Are you not excited about it?’A dose of nerves accompanies the thought.

I sit for a second with his thoughts, although I reach for his hand and link our fingers.‘It’s not that I’m not excited but this is huge. We don’t need to talk out loud ever again.’

“I’m sure we will still talk,” Ty speaks aloud. “But we’ll be able to communicate around others, and when we aren’t together—although we’ll have to test the range.”

I hadn’t thought about any of that.

‘And I’ll be able to tell you…’Ty reaches forwards, placinghis lips against mine.‘How fucking gorgeous you are whilst my lips are otherwise occupied.’

My face turns completely crimson, imagining how Ty is going to take full advantage of that power.

He deepens the kiss and pulls me so I’m straddling him, adjusting the blankets so they still cover our naked bodies. I land right on his lap, right on top of his hard hot erection.
