Trish looked at him curiously. "I never knew that."

"It was a long time ago. I decided it wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I'd only joined the army to please my father."

"You can tell me all about it later, once we're back on the Jade and Katila is in prison."

I leant over to her. "I know something much better we can do on our ship."

I let my gaze flick to her boobs, then her crotch, just to make it very clear what I was talking about.

A blush reddened her cheeks. Klat, how I loved that blush. Her change of colour wasn't as extreme as that of Professor Z, who still glowed bright red, but infinitely more adorable. I wanted to kiss her right now.

Xil handed weapons to Havel and the Gemi’i torso-brothers. They held it in a way that told they'd clearly never shot anything before, but I didn't comment. It might give them reassurance. As long as they didn't shoot anyone friendly by accident.

"Sir, we've formed a barricade near the toilets. They'll have to come that way if they want to get to your office," Hwar reported.

Of course, we could see exactly that on the screens. About twenty guards had blocked off one corridor using a portable force field. Unless the rebels had high calibre weapons, they wouldn't get through there.

"Good. Have some others circle around so they'll cut them off from behind."

"Yes, sir."

Myla, who'd already been in the safe room when we'd arrived, sprinkled a blue powder on the aquarium's water. Food?

"Thank you, my dear," the headmaster said, a smile in his voice. Not that you could tell that from his appearance. He floated upwards until he reached the lowest blue particles slowly sinking down the tank. His appendages moved, revealing something like a mouth opening. As soon as he sucked in some of the food, his colour turned from red to a dazzling array of blue and purple shades. Gorgeous. Maybe we could teach Trish to turn her cheeks blue, too. It would go well with her dark hair.

As soon as the mob turned the corner and saw the barricade, they went mental. Katila stepped aside, letting those with guns take the lead. They started firing on the force field, seemingly not caring at all that guards were behind it. I hoped they knew that the force field would hold and weren't intending to brutally kill the guards. This was a revolution of academics, not freedom fighters.

After a couple of IG minutes, they realised that they weren't going to get through that force field with fire power alone. Katila and some of the other ring leaders huddled together, discussing their next steps. We couldn't hear what they were saying, but the Professor looked disappointed. Had she imagined she could simply walk in here and take what she wanted? Maybe she'd become even crazier since we'd last talked to her. She might be so deluded that her intelligence had fled to safety.

The other guards sneaked up on them from behind and set up another force field just before the rebels even noticed their presence. Now they were trapped. And all without a single drop of blood shed.

"Good work," Xil praised.

"Thank you, sir," Hwar said with a respectful salute. He must have heard Xil talk about his military career earlier. I rolled my eyes at Xil's posturing. He was enjoying this. I supposed going from being in control of an entire battalion to a crew of two must have been hard for him. I never really thought about it. I was glad to be out of the army and happy to be on a ship with Xil and Havel, having grown up with them. The military had always been just a steppingstone for me. I'd got my engineering training there for free, but I hadn't planned to stay beyond that.

"Is that it?" Trish asked. "Are you going to arrest them all?"

"Eventually," Professor Z's voice came through the speakers. "I'm sure several of them will be willing to testify against their colleagues if that means a more lenient sentence. Now we have all the more reason to put Professor Katila on trial. Everyone has seen what she's done. That's enough to convict her and have her removed from the IGU, but the evidence you presented might herald criminal charges. We'll see. For now, you can leave safe in the knowledge that she's no longer a problem."

Hix and Hex stared at the screen. They must have been wondering whether it would still be possible to visit Katila in jail, but neither said anything.

"It's been a pleasure meeting you," Professor Z said to us. "Since you've been so helpful and have proved your skills, I've decided to award you honorary degrees of the Intergalactic University."

Havel gasped while I stared at him in shock. Us? Honorary degrees? We'd barely passed Alien Abduction for Beginners and now he was going to bestow us with such a merit? I didn't know what to say.

"T-thank you," Xil stammered, the first time I'd seen him lost for words. "It's an honour."

"And you two, would you like to return to the IGU as teaching staff?" the headmaster asked the Gemi'i. "I know you have a post at your home world, but I'd be happy to arrange a secondment, if you'd like to work here."

Their faces brightened as they finally turned away from watching Katila being arrested by guards.

I tuned them out and focused on Trish. "Are you alright?"

"Couldn't be better. Is it time for our honeymoon? And can we get the recipe for these cakes?"

I pulled her out of Xil's arms and into my own, hugging her tight. I breathed in her sweet scent, causing my cock to twitch. We had to get back to the Jade quickly so I could plunge into her. This moment of danger had made me horny.

I kissed her, tasting the spicy cake on her lips. It was a lot better mixed with her own special taste. I let myself go, drowning in our kiss, ignoring everything around us. She was mine, she was safe and she tasted delicious.
