I looked to my side. “Oh shit! We next door neighbors.”

You’re fucking right I moved her ass next door to me. She wanted her own place or space, then she could have that. We both had our own space right next door to each other. My house sat on three acres, so I had lots for fucking days.

She chuckled as she walked into my arms and wrapped her arms around my neck. “Why are you like this?” She kissed my lips passionately before I could answer. She pulled away from me. “I love you.”

“I love you too, Meek.” I smacked her ass. “Come on so you can put dat pussy on dis dick. My mama said we got to bring da drinks and shit to da cookout.”

When she stood on her tiptoes and licked the side of my face, I knew her ass was about to fuck the comprehension out of me. She let me go, then walked around me into the house. I pulled my phone out my pocket to open the delivery app. “Fuck datshit. I’ma have dem boys deliver dem drink to da house. My dick reclaims my time.”

We pulled up to my parents’ house three hours later. Mekole and I fucked on each other for over an hour before we got into the shower to fuck on each other some more. I knew my mama was about to talk cold cash shit because she sent me a text about the drink delivery.

The yard full of cars made my heart smile. All our people were here. “Baby, I thought your dad was just putting something on the grill for dinner?” Mekole asked after she got out of the car.

“Meek, why would I need ta bring drinks to dinna if it was just gonna be us?” I grabbed her hand. “Come on.”

She laughed when I pulled her to my side to start walking. When we got into the house, she dropped my hand immediately. “Mommy! Daddy! What are you doing here?” Her head snapped to the side. “Uncle Dan, Auntie Crystal!”

Yeah, everyone was here. I took the few steps to wrap my arms around her from behind. “I told you that I had help.”

There were tears in her eyes when she turned in my arms to face me. She buried her face onto my chest. She wasn’t an overly emotional person, which made her almost ashamed when she did publicly show her emotions. I kissed her temple before I expressed my love in her ear.

She lifted her head and said five words of gratitude that let me know that everything I’d done and would do for this woman was worth it. With a tear drenched face, she said, “Thank you for loving me.”

You can’t break the unbreakable. This woman thought that nigga broke her, but he didn’t. He simply couldn’t. It was that Virgo strength in her ass. The same qualities that made me want to powerslam her ass at times were the same qualities that made her the woman that I loved. Tonight would be just as eventful as this morning. “Thank you for loving me in return.”

EPILOGUE

Some Time Later . . .

“He looks justlike his daddy, Jesus!” Fiona could not believe how much her godson-cousin-nephew looked like T.J. She had to call on video to see him since his parents were not accepting visitors yet. There was no way that T.J. could ever deny his son, especially since he was Tumnus Jethro’s namesake, with a small twist added with the name Derrick.

The day that Mekole became T.J.’s next door neighbor was the same day that she became his fiancée. He was a man of purpose. When he settled in his spirit that one of his purposes in life was to love Mekole Ciara Henderson, he leaned into it.

Mekole told him that it would take a year and a half to plan her dream wedding. He told her bet. Little did she know that in her fiancé’s head, a wedding and a marriage were two different things. The next week, they were at the courthouse saying their vows in front of many witnesses. As promised, a year and a half later, they had a lavish wedding that was the talk of the city because of the guest list.

She never saw this for herself. Mekole never thought she would be a wife after the hurt that James and Faheeta caused. She certainly never thought that she would be a mother after the loss of not just one, but two babies. Shortly after she and T.J. got engaged, she became pregnant. To everyone’s dismay, she was unable to carry the baby to full-term and lost another son when she was thirty-two weeks pregnant.

Their community stood tall behind them to support them during their loss. It was ironic that all those years ago, Fiona said that it was all about God’s placement of people in your life, and God showed himself in the situation that threatened to break Mekole and T.J.Megatron Loric Manfield. He was the person that was needed in that time to remind the couple that God had not left them. He let them know that God had a greater plan, and it was all in God’s time.

It was God’s time. When Mekole found out that she was pregnant not even six months after she and her husband lost their son, she was terrified. It was time for that special person that God placed in her life.Ruth Lindsay Manfield. All the girls stood beside Mekole in support, but Ruth had a full understanding of what Mekole felt. The fear that your body was not enough to nourish and grow life.

Mekole looked down at her two-day old son with admiration, love, and even a tad bit of obsession. “He does, doesn’t he? That’s because that man got on my nerves every day.”

“Don’t do that, Meek.” T.J. came to her side. “You know you love when a nigga gets on your nerves.” He leaned down to where his wife sat on the bed in one of Delia’s birthing centers. His lips went to her ear. “You know you love it when my dick nerve get in you too. Six weeks, and I’m back on your ass.”

Mekole’s blushful cheeks betrayed her. “Stop being mannish in front of our son. Be a good example.”

She loved this man more than she ever thought she could love a man. She was obsessed with not only her son, but herhusband. There were still times that she needed her space, and he gave her that for a limited time, . . . very limited.

They now lived in Mekole’s house, and her parents lived in T.J.’s house. Derrick and Brandy moved to Charleston shortly after their daughter told them that she was pregnant with Junior. Brandy refused to be far away from her daughter during any more pregnancies.

“Give me my boy,” T.J. demanded as he reached out for his son. Now he had two hearts in human form. He thanked God daily for them.

When he and his wife lost their first son, he didn’t know a pain like that existed. When he wasn’t putting on a strong front for his wife, he was crashing out. Much like Mega had to be pulled back, so did he. The biggest difference was that he didn’t have to be involuntarily retired. His crash outs were not work related. He was put on a mental health leave with the requirement to attend therapy in order to return to work. Draco was right there to take on new patients in T.J. and Mekole.

The community had shown itself once again to be a safe place for the couple. Junior had a community of aunts, uncles, and cousins who would go to war for him and his parents. Derrick and Brandy felt the love from the community as well. They knew when their son-in-law called them about his plan that their daughter was exactly where God intended for her to be. It took a little bit of hell to get to heaven, but Mekole got there.

TorTela still lived in a world of disbelief when it came to her daughter and James’s disappearance. She was in the right world, but there wasn’t shit that she could do to prove otherwise. It had been years at that point, so Mauri made minimal changes to the dead couple’s imaginary lifestyle. The last update that TorTela received was that James cheated and left Taco Shell. Every once in a while, Mauri checked in and made storylines for them. It was her way of authoring the lives of real people.
