Talking to her would be the obvious start.
I didn’t do obvious.
“Nah, not tonight. Don’t want to kill the adrenaline buzz.”
“I’m sure Rosie would be delighted for you to describe her like that.” Saff shook her head. “Whatever, man.” She approached me, already changed out of her stage clothes, and kissed me on both cheeks. “I’ll see you soon. Stay in touch.”
Potentially, I wouldn’t see her for a while. We had no other gigs in the diary, and no plans to work together again. I’d miss her. While I’d been a total arse to her on tour, she had her moments, and we understood each other. She was also the one link I had to Rosie, if I didn’t see her then that link would be broken.
I was undecided as to whether it was a good thing.
Declan, Mat and Bobby went off to watch the band, leaving me alone.
Bad move.
I checked my jacket to see if there was any coke left. If I had been true to form, there would be, and I wasn’t disappointed. I snorted the remaining couple of lines and wiped the remnants of the powder into my gums. Fuck, I loved that initial rush.
Still dressed in stage clothes, dark skinny jeans, boots, and a tight-fitting black t-shirt, I exited the dressing room, in search of something. Or someone. I hadn’t quite decided yet.
The sound from the stage drew me to where everyone else watched from.
I spotted a hot looking redhead, wearing cut-off denim shorts and a tight-fitting lacy black top, standing in the wings and sidled up beside her. My mouth curled up at one corner. It was someone, not something, I needed.
“Hey,” I whispered-shouted into her ear.
She turned, eyeing me blankly. “Um, hi?”
“You enjoying the music?” Lame, but it was all I had.
Her eyes lit up. “Yeah, they’re great. Have you seen them before?”
I sucked in a breath. Clearly, she had no idea who the hell I was—disheartening. “A few times,” I lied. “Did you watch the support act?”
“Only got here a little while ago. I can’t believe I got backstage!” She waved the lanyard at me.
My gaze travelled over her body. I could. She had everything to get her the all access pass. “I can show you around, if you like?”
She flicked her head around to mine. “Oh, I was going to wait until they’d finished and then see?” Her finger gestured to the band onstage.
Clearly uninterested, she turned her attention back to the performance.
For a moment, I considered pushing it. Then realised I’d be like that prick Mark who tried to take advantage of Rosie. And I would never - ever - do that to a woman. Not bothering to say hi to Declan, Mat and Bobby, I slipped away back to the dressing room.
I found my phone and fired off a quick message to one of my contacts. Seconds later the notification pinged.
Something would have to do instead.

Rosie
Watching Scott perform gave me all the feels. And I meanallof them.
Sure, I’d seen the band at the launch party only a few days ago, but this was next level.
He prowled around the stage like he owned it, connecting with audience members intimately, as if they were the only two people in the room. At one point, he cast a look into the wings where I stood, his grey eyes like flints as they bored into mine. I swear a spontaneous orgasm ripped through me from his intense gaze.
I bit my lip as he turned away, launching into another song and performance to go with it.
