“Sure, I’ll wait for you outside.”
Mark flashed me another megawatt smile. “Excellent, I’ll see you soon.”
As Mark exited, Ellie walked back in. “Bye, Mark, good working with you. We’ll be in touch if there’s any more work.”
He smiled and thanked her.
She raised her eyebrows. “You two going out?”
“You can join us if you want.”
“Love to, but I just popped in to say goodbye, I can’t stay around. I’ve got a late meeting with a supplier.” She embraced me. “We really need to sort out a proper catch up.” Her eyes narrowed mischievously. “And you can give me all the gossip on your love life.”
“What gossip? There isn’t any.” I rolled my eyes.
“There might be after tonight.” She dodged out of my way, waving as she left the room. “Talk soon!”
Once Ellie had gone, I stripped out of the lingerie I’d been modelling. Somewhat disappointed I wasn’t able to keep it, I wished I’d asked Ellie if I could. Once dressed in my own clothes, I had a few minutes to kill before going outside. I checked my emails to see if the photographer had sent through the pictures. He had. The shots, even without the edits, were amazing. I saved them to my phone and fired up my messaging app.
Rosie: Thought you’d like to see the results from today! Not bad considering the hangover from hell! See you back in London xxx
I pressed send. Saff would appreciate the message, she’d promised to help out with promo where she could.
Seconds later, I had a reply.
Scott: Fuck me, Rosie! Getting hard looking at these… You still in Manchester?
Shit. Shit. Shit.
Saff and Scott’s details were next to each other in my contacts list.
I covered my eyes with my hand and winced.
Was it accidental? He had been on my mind throughout the day.
Rosie: Sorry! Not meant for your eyes. Can you delete?
Scott: Shame. Sure I can’t keep them for my spank bank??
Rosie: NOOOOO!
Scott: And you never answered my question about where you were.
Rosie: Yes, I’m still in Manchester.
Scott: Want to…
I didn’t even wait for him to complete the message before replying.
Rosie: Already going out with one of the guys from the shoot.
He didn’t reply straight away and after several minutes of staring at my screen, waiting for the jumping dots to indicate a response, I gave up.
The make-up artist stuck her head into the room. “Rosie, are you ready to go? We’re all packed up.”
I gave the room a cursory sweep, checking I had all my stuff, and stood up. “Yes, all good. Are you guys going out too?”
“No, we’ve got another shoot in the morning, so getting an early night. You have fun with Mark.” She winked.
