I quickly punch in my pin and hand it to him. The other ones eyes flickers for a second, as their leader hands my phone to me, he’s all up in my personal space, almost like he’s trying to tell me something.
I step back, he steps closer. His cronies chuckles softly... still scary. “I-I don’t know Trevor or anythin-”
“Gwan back in a the car,” he cuts me off and I get in beside my cousins utterly confused. So, he’s just gonna go... that easy? My thoughts hits pause once I hear his footsteps. Again. Pfft. “Y-yes,” he stutters. This man is still staring at me as he walks off. Mr. Perry quickly gets out, changes his tire with our help. The whole time, I feel his eyes. He’s around the other ones.
“Hurry, Mr. Perry.” I whisper, stealing glances at the group of criminals on the soft shoulder behind us. “What if dem mind change?” Mr. Perry looks up at me and shake his head.
“Dem nah do that... not when him have him eyes pan—”
“Still a chat bout?” his voice cuts through us. We grow still. Once the wheel is on, we fly in the car and Mr. Perry pulls off with us.
“How him just make we go so?” Sash breaks the silence.
Gavin glares outside. “Well, a God save we life,” he breathes. We fall into an awkward silence. Again. This time it’s so loud. I sink in the seat, staring through the window. ‘Bring her home.’ Him think you a him woman? And... him never see the rest a we?
Sash’s voice drags me from that thought. I turn my attention to her
