I want to stay like this with him forever. When his fingers dip into the apex of my thighs, I open wider for him. They find their target as his fingers brush over my clit and Blaze touches me exactly how I need it.

“Blaze!” I moan.

“I know, baby.”

He works me his fingers over me in a steady rhythm, building and building while his cock maintains slow, sensual movements. One more stroke of his fingers and I climax hard around him, my body arching. My fingers dig into his wrist as his name tumbles from my lips incoherently. It’s all it takes to tip him over the edge, his hot cum hitting me deep inside as he lazily rocks back and forth, his breathing heavy in my ear as he rides out his orgasm.

“Holy fuck, that was…” he trails off and places a kiss on my neck.

“Incredible,” I finish for him.

“Mm.”

We lay like that for a while, with him still inside me and half hard, enjoying the press of our bodies together. We should getup, but neither of us moves, Blaze traces lazy patterns on my skin as I hold his other hand in mine. I’m about to drift off when his voice cuts through the silence of the morning.

“We need to get ready, love. We’ve got an empire to take down.”

We spend the day going over the plan for a final time, waiting for night to fall.

“I don’t fucking like this part of the plan, love.”

If his words haven’t made it obvious, the way he says it through gritted teeth is enough to give him away. I stop his hands from running through his hair for the millionth time as a way to put off what I’ve asked him to do.

“I know, Blaze but it’s the only way. He won’t believe me otherwise.”

I rub soothing patterns into the pulse points of his wrist where I’m holding him. What I’m asking of him goes against all that he stands for, but I need him to do this.

“Fine.”

He spits the word out, wrenching himself from my hold and placing his hands on my neck. They stay there unmoving as he stares into my eyes, his breathing turning rapid.

“Close your eyes, baby.”

He does as I ask.

“Now, imagine I’m him, imagine him hurting your mother, hurting me.”

It does the trick. He squeezes, hard, cutting off my airway. I fight the urge to grab his wrists because if I do, he’ll stop and this needs to bruise, to ruin my voice until it’s hoarse. I feel the bruises forming under his hands, and my vision goesblurry. I ignore the desperate need to take another breath with everything I have, knowing if I try the panic will set in.

He keeps his grip tight, digging his fingers in. We stay like that until my face feels like it will explode, I tap his wrist to signal for him to stop. They release my neck and fly to the back of my head cupping it to keep me steady as I fight the dizziness taking over.

“I need you to look at me, love.”

My eyes flutter as they drift to his, I hear the panicked tone of his voice as I drag heaving breaths into my lungs and wait for my blurry vision to focus, Blaze coming into view as the dizziness recedes.

“That’s it, take deep breaths, my love. And another. Fuck, I never want to do that again. Nevermake me do that to you again, please.” His voice cracks as he pleads with me, his lovely green eyes boring into mine.

I dip my chin in something resembling a nod, not trusting my voice to work right now. He waits for my breathing to become more even before I’m crushed to his chest in a tight hug. I hear the rapid thumping of his heart, the shuddery breaths as he inhales, and the slight trembling of his body tells me how much this has cost him.

I hope it’s worth it.

I wrap my arms around his trim waist, squeezing him tight and massaging the tense muscles of his back. We stay like that until we’ve both calmed our breathing enough to talk.

“I’m sorry.” My throat is rough and scratchy, making my voice hoarse, “I’m sorry you had to do that, but I trusted you to stop. I trust you with my life, Blaze.”

He makes a small, strangled sound in the back of his throat, I lift my head from his chest to look at him. Blaze isn’t looking at me though—his eyes are squeezed tight, like he’s in pain. I pull from his embrace and angle his head to face me.

“Hey, hey. Look at me, Blaze.”
