“Because she’s notyours.” Shit, that made it sound like he wanted her to be Bastille’s.
Nikolai opened his mouth to reply, but the woman groggily asked, “What happened?”
She blinked several times before those heart-stopping blues connected with Bastille’s mystical green.
No more playing around. Game time.
Bastille strode forward and cupped her neck—as if to choke her, yet his dominating hold was gentle. He steered her head to meet his gaze.
“You are going to answer some questions.”
Chapter 7
The green spirals pulled Luna in instantly until she was unable to look away.
“Very good,” Bastille purred. “Keep staring.”
The low voice’s approval made her body quiver in the chair.
The pretty spirals just kept eating up all of her attention. All of her focus.
“Such a good hypnotic subject,” the voice complimented her.
A soft little moan of pleasure came from her.Want to please him.
“Lose yourself in my eyes. Let your mind rest and listen to my words.”
Her expression went blank as his eyes began to flash along with the spiral.Flash.Flash. Every one of her thoughts popped away.
“Good girl,” he praised her, and heat swirled low in her stomach like an internal spiral, dragging her down, down, down… “What’s your name, pretty girl?”
“Luna.” The word came out in a dreamy monotone.
“Age?”
“Twenty-two.”
Was she swaying in the chair now? It felt like she was swaying. Floating.Mmmm.
“How did you get the case of money?”
She licked her lips, zoning in and out as she gazed into those hypnotic green eyes. “I stole it from two men in the hotel.”
A sharp snort came from the male voice in front of her, but those spirals kept her attention. “Stole?”
“Needed the money,” she said.
“For what?”
“You were planning to leave?”
“Keep running…won’t get found.”
A soft growl almost distracted her from the peaceful spirals. “Someone is after you?” the voice demanded.
She blinked, her eyelids feeling so droopy. So tired.
