"Sounds like the guy I knew."
"What about you, Cal? You never got married? No kids at all?"
"Married the damn US Navy, sweetheart. Kept me busy. Sent me into places and situations I'm still not allowed to talk about-- even with the guys who were there with me. I guess I just never came across a woman who was going to put up with that...probably, I wasn't lookin'."
"You weren't looking for me, either."
Now I get her smile back. And a swat to my naked ass, perking my dick back up before our conversation is over.

"Are you? Harlan said he's trying to talk you into joining whatever he does? And tonight..."
