I arrived, having taken the time to prepare myself. The building was closed today, Niko gave me the codes to enter without Elijah knowing and he told the guard that I was coming. I entered the empty space and made my way to the back, where a faint light caught my eye.

Elijah’s eyes softened with relief. “I could’ve killed you,Milaya.”

“I don’t think so. They call me the huntress, you forgot? Maybe I like the thrill of the chase.”

He leaned in closer, smiling beautifully. “No need to hunt me.”

“Why?”

He lowered his gun, grabbed my throat, and whispered, “Because you already caught me.”
