“You’re still here voluntarily, Niko. I could always?—”

Niko interrupted, “Okay, I get it Eli. I might fucking throw up all my dinner.”

I chuckled, and suggested to Elijah, “You could always push him out of the jet if he’s bothering you.”

Kissing me, he responded, “Tempting.”

I fell asleep in his arms, squeezing his hand so tightly during my nap. I don’t understand how he didn’t even move me away, my nails left small bruises on his skin.

I opened my eyes little by little and heard them speak in Russian again, Niko in front of me smiled when he saw that I was awake, “Wake up Little Z, we arrived.”

The jet touched down nestling in a beautiful coastal place.

We disembarked, Elijah took the bags with Niko and the first step I took outside was heavenly.

The sound of the waves and the scent of the ocean filled my heart. The view was breathtaking; it felt like the air here was more breathable than in the city.

Elijah guided us toward a sleek black SUV waiting nearby and I couldn’t stop smiling. “Where are we?” I asked.

He smirked, placed the bags inside the trunk and kissed my neck. “A little slice of heaven I own.”

“I didn’t peg you for the vacation type.”

“I’m full of surprises, Zanae.”

Niko rolled his eyes and added “More like full of paperwork.”

“Ready to take a break from your laptop, Niko?”

With a smirk, he replied, “My laptop is practically an extension of my soul, Z. So, no.”

“We’ll have to do something about that, it’s kind of sad.”

Elijah drove the SUV, his hand always searching for me in the backseat. Empty roads, surrounded by greenery, with the ocean visible as far as the eye could see. I couldn’t help but admire everything around us.

“This place is so pretty.”

“I thought you might like it,” Elijah replied, meeting my eyes in the rearview mirror.

Niko feigned nausea, and shook his head. “You two are going to give me a fucking headache with all this.”

Elijah shot him a smirk, “TisheNiko.”

“I can’t believe you just told me to shut up, I thought we were fucking best friends. You bastard!”

We arrived at a luxurious beachfront house, enveloped by sand. Niko took the lead, opening the door of the beautiful beach house in front of us.

“This is where we’re staying?” I asked in awe.

Elijah nodded, a subtle smile playing on his lips.

As I stepped onto the sandy ground, a gentle breeze caressed my skin.

Life, I felt life running through my veins, just like with the rain, or the sky.

Niko, playing the gracious host, gestured toward the house. “After you, Miss Dellé. Let me show you around.”

“Oh, please do, Mister Moretti,” I replied, laughing.
