I spun to find a man standing behind me. Lean, athletic build with close-cropped dark hair. His snarky mouth lifted at the corners slightly as he tipped his head to the side and crossed his bare, tattooed forearms across his chest.

“Hello, Cora.”

“How do you know my name? Who are you?” I looked back at the bus stop. “Where am I?”

He shook his head slightly. “I do hate this part…usually, but things are different for you, gorgeous. My name is Loke. And we’ve met before.” He moved closer, and I took a step away from him. “Hey.” His dark eyes tracked over my face. “I won’t hurt you.”
