“Yeah, well, stop.”

“What?”

He looked up, eyes flashing. “Stop being so…so fucking you.”

I was so confused. “I don’t—”

He grabbed me and kissed me, mouth crashing down on mine like a brand. Heat shot through me and expanded in my chest. I gasped, letting him in unwittingly. His tongue touched mine, lashing, claiming. My brain demanded I push him away, but my body vetoed the order, pressing against him eagerly and submitting to the plundering connection. He kissed me like a tornado ravaging an obstacle in its path; my chest was too tight, blood pulsing in my head, between my thighs, need clawing at my belly, but it was over too soon. He shoved me away as if I’d attacked him.

“Fucking hell, Adi. Fucking hell.”

He turned his back on me, palms flat on Drake.

My body was cold without his touch, lips throbbing from the harsh but satisfying kiss.

“Curo—”

“Don’t. You’ve been here a day and I’m… Look, just forget that happened.”

Why wasn’t I surprised. “If this is some kind of game…”

He straightened and turned to face me. “No, Adi. You and I won’t be playing any games. You’re off limits. You’re the prez’s daughter.”

No, that wasn’t it. He was lying.

He climbed onto the bike. “Get on. I need to pass you off to Riley, then I have work to do.”

I shut down my retort and climbed onto the bike. Fuck him, I wasn’t here to deal with his issues. I had my own shit to worry about.

Curo didn’t waitfor me when we got back to the club residence. He hopped off the bike and strode away.

“What is his issue?”

Drake was silent.

“Hello?” I touched the warm metal.

“The bikes only communicate when their riders are present,” a male voice said.

I glanced up at the stranger. A hellhound if his eyes were anything to go by. I hadn’t met him yet, though.

He smiled and raked me over. “Hi, I’m Rafe. You must be new?” He sauntered closer and my body tensed in response. There was something off about this guy. A kind of crazy in his eyes that made my stomach hurt and my brain itch. “You know you shouldn’t be out here.”

“I was just headed in.” I took a step around him, but he moved with me, blocking my path. “Excuse me?” I glared up at him. “Get out of my way.”

He smiled. “Oh, come now, is that any way for a groupie to speak to a Grave Spirit.”

Groupie? “I’m not a groupie, I’m—”

“Call it what you want, but you’re all here for one reason and one alone. Usually, I’d play along with your little fantasies, but I’m horny as fuck.”

He grabbed me around the waist and the shock of his action held me immobile for a second. But only a second. I kneed him in the balls and when he doubled over, I head-butted him in the face, then ran past him. I knew better than to stick around to tangle with a guy much bigger and stronger than me.

“You cunt!”

I yelped as he tugged me back by the hair.
