Toni headed for the door.

“Toni?” Jessie called after her.

“I’ll need to speak to Bobby. See you in the garage.”

I headed for the door, but Logan blocked my exit. “You okay?” He had bloodstains on his shirt.

“I’m fine. I need to check on Fin.” I pushed past him and headed to my room.

Once the door was closed, the shock hit me and the tears came. I was fine. I was safe.

What if Spectre hadn’t shown up?

Would I have been able to fight off the crazy hellhound?

The question would haunt me.

Fin slept, but he was on his side now. That had to be a good sign. I quickly changed my clothes, ran a brush through my red waves, then pulled my hair back into a French braid before heading back out.

I faltered in the hallway and glanced down the corridor toward Spectre’s room. Was he there? Probably not. He was probably at the tribunal. But I strode to his door on the off chance. I needed to thank him.

My knock was met with silence, and I was about to leave when the door was yanked open.

Spectre stood shirtless before me.

I’d seen him naked before, but for some reason my brain decided to do a mini shutdown at the sight of his bare torso.

“Adi…” He said my name like a wish.

I dragged my gaze up from his pecs to his stunning face. “Thank you.”

His throat bobbed, and his nostrils flared. “I…I’m glad you’re all right.”

“Thanks to you.”

He shook his head and closed the door a fraction. “It’s fine. I need to…” His chest vibrated on a growl that he bit back almost angrily. “I have to get ready for the tribunal.” He slammed the door in my face.

I stood there for long seconds.

What the heck was wrong with the males of Grave Spirits?

CHAPTERTHIRTEEN

Riley’s bike was called Traynor.

“Don’t worry, Adi, you’ll be safe with Riley and me,” he assured me.

Riley stroked the handlebars. “You gonna ride smooth tonight, Tray?”

“You know it, RiRi.”

She chuckled. “Okay, ladies. You know the route the road captain mapped out for us tonight.”

Toni and Jessie called out affirmatives.

I tugged my scarf up to shield my face and pushed my helmet down, flipping the visor to shield my eyes. Riley had loaned me a warmer jacket but I’d have to go shopping soon to get one of my own. Boots too.

Riley glanced over her shoulder at me and nodded. “Then let’s ride.”
