Chapter Fifteen

When I walk through the front door, I’m greeted with the sight of Lewis’s bare, broad, muscled back as he leans over the kitchen island, phone in hand.
He glances up at me, and my knees go weak. That smile. God, it slays me every. Single. Time.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
My tummy flips at hearing him rasp that one-word greeting.
“What are you up to?” I ask as I walk over.
He grabs me by the waist and plants a kiss on me that leaves me shuddering.
“Just uploading some of those photos you took last night to my Instagram like you suggested.”
“Can I see?”
He hands his phone to me, and I beam when I see the image he’s chosen. It’s the one where he’s leaning his elbows against the railing of the veranda, and his back and ass and thighs are the focal point.
He opted for the short, simple, and cheeky caption I suggested, which makes me go warm all over in a way I didn’t expect.

“Love the caption.”
He scratches the scruff along his jaw, a flustered smile pulling at his mouth.
My eyes go wide as I look at the screen. “Holy...one million likes?”
“Yup. And it’s only been up for an hour.”
He moves to stand next to me, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me snug against him. My heart flutters. That was such an affectionate move—a couple-y move.
I shove aside the thoughts of us being a couple. “I love the filter you paired with it. It makes it come off so artistic and moody.”
“Nah, that’s all you. Your brilliant eye captured that picture.”
When he kisses my forehead, goose bumps flash across my skin.
“What’s the response been?” I ask.
“Just like you predicted. Speculation on where I am and what I’m up to. Hardly any mentions of me cussing out the paparazzi at Chateau Marmont. It’s working like you said it would—slowly pulling people’s attention away from what I did and getting them to focus on what I might be up to now.”
I do a quick skim of the top comments.
