We stop just a few feet from the pond and take in the view.
“Wow. This is so pretty.” I gaze up at the dazzling full moon in the indigo-black sky, how its reflection sparkles softly in the frozen water. The brightness of the moon paints the snow and the trees in a soft glow.
“I had no idea it was going to be a full moon tonight,” I say. “Guess we got lucky.”
“Igot lucky.”
I turn to Theo, who’s gazing at me with what looks like adoration on his face. For a second, I forget to breathe.
A tender smile pulls at his mouth. “Maya, this is…” He huffs out a breath and shakes his head. “This is the most thoughtful gift anyone has ever gotten me. Thank you.”
His low tone is full of emotion. It sends a flash of heat across my body, despite the chill in the air.
“You didn’t have to do all this for me,” he says.
I reach up and cup his face in my hands. “I know I didn’t have to. I wantedto.”
His blue eyes turn fiery. “You know, for someone who says she sucks at romantic gestures, you knocked it out of the park with this surprise.”
His compliment has me soaring. “I guess I’m getting better at it.”
I lean up and kiss him softly. He hums against my lips before parting my mouth open with his tongue. That heat inside of me burns hotter. Soon I’m clawing at his chest through his coat. A beat later I force myself to break the kiss.
“We should probably stop. We have an audience,” I say before glancing over at Judy, Walt, and the dogs, who are yelping and kicking up snow.
Theo lets out a shaky breath and an equally shaky chuckle. He rests his forehead against mine. “Good point.”
“We’ll finish this at the house,” I say. “For now, enjoy the ride. And get ready for surprise number two.” I wink at him before pulling him back to the dog sled by the hand.
“Please tell me it involves you being naked at some point.”
I turn around and smirk at him. “You’ll just have to wait and see.”

Theo
When we make it back to the house, my cheeks ache because I can’t stop smiling. This birthday surprise Maya planned for me was incredible. No one has ever done anything like this for me.
She goes to unlock the front door. “You’re still smiling,” she says as she turns around to glance at me.
I slide my arms around her waist and hug her from behind.
“Tonight was amazing.” I nuzzle my face into her hair. “Youare amazing.”
She lets out a soft moan and I hug her tight against me. She twists her head around and I capture her mouth in a slow, teasing kiss.
After a few seconds, she pulls away. I take in that hungry look in her eyes. “Let’s go inside,” she rasps.
I follow her through the door and shut it behind me.
She spins around to face me. “Take off your coat and wait for me on the couch.” Her smile has a naughty edge to it now.
My dick twitches in my pants. “Yes, ma’am.”
Maya disappears down the hall and I head to the kitchen to guzzle a glass of water before going to sit on the couch.
Two minutes later she strolls out in this red lingerie thing that has my eyes bulging out of my head. I stare at her, unable to formulate words for a solid ten seconds.
