Maybe he is hiding in the shadows.
“Hello?” I called.
Nothing. Damn it!
“Of course,” I muttered under my breath.
He’d had to leave right after he dumped his load inside me. No aftercare or anything—not that I actually expected it from a man. Alvin hadn’t done it. Why would I expect a beast to?
But I did need that money.
After sighing softly, I readjusted my clothes so I wouldn’t look like I had just fucked a wild animal at my new job and gathered my belongings. I hoped to a god that I didn’t believe in that they didn’t have cameras in this room.
Or else I’d be fucked. And this time, not literally.
Once I smoothed out my top, I grabbed the door handle and took a deep breath. I would need to pay him a visit at The Breeding Cave tonight, and instead of letting him entice me, I would stand my ground and demand my money.
If I didn’t, the Dragon Clan would kill me. Or worse … kill my family.
When I finally pushed the door open, it slammed into someone.
“Sorry!” I shouted, leaping out from the room and spotting Luciano.
Oh my God! He is here to scold me. He found out what I did and probably has been looking for an excuse to fire me since this morning in the elevator. And this will be a goddamn perfect reason!
“Ms. Cho, what were you doing in there?” he asked.
“Oh!” I exclaimed, a bead of sweat forming on the back of my neck. “I just … got lost!”
“Lost?” Luciano repeated, his eyes a bit softer than usual. “In here?”
“Yeah, um …” I gulped and looked around. “This place is so big.”
“Your cheeks are all red,” he noted, as if he didn’t believe my excuse.
“Sometimes, they get like that”—my mouth dried—“when I’m nervous.”
He stepped closer, his dress shoes on the tiles echoing through the spacious foyer and his voice dropping. “Do I make you nervous, Yeosin?”
Heat raced to my core, just like it had this morning on the elevator when he spoke my name. I teetered from foot to foot and played with the end of my sleeve. Between him and that beast, I didn’t know what I was feeling with who anymore.
His eyes darkened, and I pressed my thighs together discreetly so he wouldn’t notice, like he had earlier. My nipples tightened, and I wanted to tug on them, but I had to restrain myself or else … I would really get fired.
Luciano cocked his head to the side. “Hmm?”
Stay professional, Yeosin!
I giggled nervously and placed a hand over my chest. “Aren’t all bosses intimidating?”
After shoving his hands into his suit pockets, he stopped. “What makes me intimidating?”
Oh, I don’t know, Luciano … maybe it’s that you’re grumpy all the time, my new boss, or one of the most attractive men I’ve met. Just to name a few!
“Um, you know?—”
Luciano chuckled. “Attractive, huh?”
It took me a second to register what he had said, but when I did, my eyes shot open. “Oh my God! I-I didn’t just say that out loud, did I?!”
