Drake called me roughly two hours ago, stating that a woman had accessed Oak Park under the guise of one of his officers.
Assuming that Madison was the woman in question, he passed the message along to us instead of having her arrested or dealt with by the on-site guards.
“Now, we strap him down to the cot,” I grinned, releasing Madison and stepping forward to assist Dean with lifting Adrian’s body up and onto the bed.
Once Adrian was in position, I quickly dipped outside of the room, picking up the restraints we had brought with us and tossing a set over to Dean.
“I—I don’t—” Madison stammered before rubbing her temples with a heavy sigh as she just stood by and watched us. “Boys, stop… What the fuck are you even doing here?”
Dean and I halted our work, turning our full attention to her with Adrian only half restrained.
“You wanted revenge, and we are giving you exactly that,” I stated as I stood from where I had knelt to strap Adrian’s ankles to the cot.
“But you’re also not doing it alone,” Dean added, crossing his arms over his chest as he mirrored my stance.
“I didn’t need your help.” Madison scoffed, rolling her eyes.
“You sure about that? He had you pinned to his fucking bed, Mads.” Dean barked furiously, and I could see that he was just as pissed off as I was to find her under Adrian and losing the ability to breathe.
“I had it under control.”
“The fuck you did.”
“I don’t want your help.” Madison snarled, rushing forward to step into Dean, her nails digging into her palms at her sides, knuckles turning white from the strain.
“No, and I get that...” His eyes softened as his shoulders relaxed, and he raised his hands to cup her cheeks. “If you don’t believe that Marcus and I want revenge on Adrian just as badly as you—for you—then you clearly don’t know us as well as you thought.”
I stepped up behind her, wrapping my hands around the backs of her fists and pressing myself against her back.
“Everything we do is for you, kitten. Not for me, and not for Dean. You.” I murmured against the shell of her ear. “Allow us the privilege of protecting you. Adrian’s life is yours to take; there’s no argument there. But you don’t have to do this alone. Not anymore.”
“We’ve only got a short window of time to get him ready for you. Let us do this, and Adrian is all yours, darling.” Dean whispered softly before pressing a light, tender kiss to her lips. “We’ll even leave the room if that’s what you ask of us.”
Dean adjusted his hold to grip her chin, and Madison nodded, sucking in a breath as her eyes dropped to Adrian, narrowing on him the longer she stared.
“I don’t want you to leave me… Stay…” She uttered, not breaking her concentration. “This is for us.”
Chapter 32
Dean
Thiswasn’ttheoriginalplan, but one thing Marcus and I always did best was wing it when things went sideways. And things had undoubtedly gone sideways.
We had just finished restraining Adrian to the cot, stepping back to admire our handiwork and fist-bumping each other in silent gratification.
“Times like these, I wish I had a Sharpie on me.” Marcus teased as he crossed his arms and rubbed his index finger across his chin.
“Why am I not surprised by that remark?” I chuckled, shaking my head as I slid my hands into my pockets. “He should be up soon. We should go and get our girl.”
When Madison had finally calmed down, we suggested that she take a stroll around the cell block to clear her head.
Drake had already notified everyone on shift about us being here before Marcus and I arrived. I don’t know if he disclosed ourintentions or Madison’s, but I doubted that these guards even gave a fuck about Adrian and his well-being at this point.
“Hang on.” Marcus stopped me just as I was about to exit the cell.
“What?”
“Are you sure we should be condoning this?”
