“Okay, enough about crypto,” I drawl smoothly. “That shit will get you depressed and anxious, especially when I start detailing the criminal behavior of those motherfuckers. So you have the MCAT coming up. Tell me more about that.”
Emma shoots me an exasperated smile, her golden locks trailing over her naked tits.
“Logan, I think we’re two peas in a pod,” she says in a dry tone. “Neither of us ever want to talk about work because it exhausts us. It makes us tired and depressed and a host of other things, so we always try to avoid discussing our jobs.”
I stare at her.
“Crypto does bore me sometimes but it’s worth it because it’s made me rich,” I say in a smooth tone. “It bought me all this, and more,” I say, gesturing to the lavish master suite. “Meanwhile, you’re in medicine because?”
The beautiful blonde lets out an unladylike snort.
“Because I want to help people!”
I shake my head.
“Yeah, but it’s driving you insane, honey. It makes you sad, depressed, and anxious and you’re not even a doctor yet. I don’t mean to come down like a ton of bricks, but I don’t think this is the way it’s supposed to be.”
Emma shoots me a look.
“Then how is it supposed to be? Am I supposed to make my jewelry business into a full time thing? I only make a thousand a month from my Etsy store,” she says with a rueful shake of her head. “That’s nowhere near what I need to survive.”
I shrug.
“Etsy stores are great, and I’d say that a thousand dollars a month is respectable for someone who’s only doing it as a hobby. You’ve tested the market, and people are buying your wares, which is the most important part. So why not? Have you thought about pursuing your business full-time?”
But instead of leaping at the suggestion, Emma merely looks sad.
“I have, but it’s not doable, Logan. Redline and Roses is amazing, and I adore making jewelry with my hands because it gives me a sense of completion and accomplishment. Plus, if you look on Amazon, there are dozens, if not hundreds, of sellers, selling the exact same thing as me! Red cords have been a part of Kabbalah mysticism since forever, so it’s not a new concept.”
I nod.
“But it’s fine to have competition, sweetheart. Hell, competition can make you leaner, faster, and stronger, and believe me, I’m not trying to push you one way or another. I’m just saying that it could be an option, and that I’d be happy to support you, if that’s what you need. I have plenty of money, baby girl, and I can think of no better use for it than helping you expand Redline and Roses.”
Emma flushes and bites her lip, so beautiful that I know this conversation won’t be going on too much longer.
“You would?” she asks in a wavery voice, hope rising in her tone. “That’s so sweet of you, Logan.”
I lean forward to catch her mouth with my own before palming a big breast in my hand.
“I’d be more than happy to support you, honey,” I rasp against her plush lips. “Say the word and the money will be in your bank account.”
Then, we descend into a flurry of gasps, moans, and frenzied lovemaking because this is how it always is with the gorgeous girl. She drives me nuts while all the while soothing my pain, and I want to do the same for her. I want Emma to be plump, happy, and potentially even pregnant with my baby. I just have to get her to leave medicine because it serves no one’s purposes ... including her own.

Emma
“Hi sweetheart,” my dad greets as he walks into the restaurant. “How’s my best girl?”
I shoot him a smile.
“I’m good,” I say. “But you have three best girls now, right? Me, Jenna, and Katie.”
My father sits down, looking handsome, if a bit disheveled at the moment. Rick generally presents well, with pressed clothes and his black hair coiffed perfectly. But today, he looks a little off-kilter. It must be the new baby because forty-six is pretty late to become a father for the second time. Still, he has a warm smile for me.
“You’ll always be my best girl, Emma,” he says, reaching for my hand before giving it a squeeze. “I love my girlfriend and my new daughter, don’t get me wrong. But you were number one, and will always be number one.”
“Oh, that’s so sweet,” I smile. “But I don’t mind sharing the spotlight with Katie and Jenna. If anything, Katie needs you more because she’s just a few months old, while I’m an adult. I think you can focus on the baby,” I wink.
