“But you still think I’m fat. You don’t have to remind me, Capone. I see it every day in the mirror!” she snapped with angry tears running down her face.

“Bianca, you are not fat. Just pleasantly plump,” he stupidly said.

“What?!” she shrieked. “Oh God, it’s worse than I thought. H-how do you even want to have sex with me?”

Blade looked like he was ready to kill Capone who sat there in disbelief of what was happening. Blade turned his attention to Bianca and gripped her chin. “Stop that. You’re fuckin’ beautiful and as soon as you eat this sandwich, and I finish kicking Capone’s ass, I’ll take you home and show you.”

He pressed his lips to hers, silencing her cries. I had to look away from the intimate yet sweet moment, as his tongue slipped into her mouth. Anything Capone said was no longer on Bianca’s mind as she pulled away from the kiss, smiling from ear to ear. She grabbed her sandwich, happily biting into it.

Blade then turned his attention to Capone. Capone threw his hands up in surrender. Before either of them could utter a word, Cara came into the room. When her eyes landed on me, my heart dropped. I knew whatever she was about to tell me wasn’t good.

CAPONE

Cara had perfect timing.I was more than ready when she told us to follow her to the cave. I knew Blade was ready to rip my head off for upsetting Bianca. I didn’t mean any harm by what I had said, but apparently that didn’t matter. I knew the guys were always telling us how moody their women were now that they were pregnant, but damn. They probably had to walk around on eggshells, watching every little thing they said.

Needless to say, my lesson had been learned.

Giovanna hadn’t even allowed us to fully enter the cave before she faced Cara and Sara. “Just tell me. Rip it off like a band aid. I can handle it.” Tears brimmed her eyes. She looked devastated, like she was trying to mentally prepare herself for the worst-case scenario.

Cara took a deep breath and closed her eyes as if she didn’t want to look Giovanna in the eyes. I wrapped Giovanna in my arms. I could feel her body tremble.

“Derek was having an affair.”

“For how long?” She didn’t seem surprised by the information. My guess was she had probably suspected it. A woman’s intuition would tell it every time.

“According to the text in that phone, four years.”

“And you think this woman took my baby?”

“It's very possible. From the surveillance, we know Gabi knew her kidnapper and the text in Derek’s secret phone let us know Gabi had been around his mistress on a consistent basis.”

My mouth dropped open. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. So, not only was he cheating on her, but he brought their child around his other woman. That was the lowest and grimiest thing I had ever heard.

“What else did you find?” Giovanna asked through clenched teeth. I knew the trembles I felt were no longer from hurt, but anger.

“Not only did his family know about the affair, but his mother was the one who set it up. Every weekend Derek claimed to be out of town and his parents would pick Gabi up, he was really at his mistress’s home…with Gabi.”

Giovanna cried, silently wiping her tears. I knew this was way worse than what she was thinking. I figured when we found Derek had a second phone that he was living a double life, but this…. this was beyond anything I was expecting.

Sara scratched the top of her head as she sat up in her seat. “That’s not all. Derek’s mistress, whose name is Asha, had been sending him threatening texts a month before he was killed. He broke it off with her after she miscarried their baby. He tried convincing her to get an abortion before that. I guess he used her miscarriage as his way out.”

“You really think she’s the one who took my baby?” Giovanna questioned again.

Sara nodded. “We do.” Sara turned to her computer and pulled up the plates from the night of Derek’s shooting. “That license plate was stolen the day before Derek was killed, andthe plates were registered to one of Asha’s neighbors in her apartment complex.”

This rabbit hole was sinking deeper and deeper. Just when you thought they didn’t have more to reveal...BAM, they hit us with something else.

“And you said his family knew about this?” Giovanna looked between Sara and Cara, waiting for them to confirm what she already knew.

“Yes. His last texts with Danny were filled with the two of them laughing at her threats. They didn’t think she was serious.” Cara scoffed as a deep frown filled her face. “The thing I’m trying to figure out is why would Danny not come forward with this? Even if he didn’t think it was possible, she was still a suspect.”

Viper entered the room, lightly tapping his knuckles on the door to gain everyone’s attention. “Babe, Mercury, along with Thing One and Thing Two just got here. Do you want me to send them back or?—”

Viper’s words were cut off as Giovanna broke from our embrace and stormed out of the room. It took a second for her outburst to register before Sara, Cara, and I stared at each other with wide eyes.

“Oh shit!” we exclaimed as we rushed out of the room.

Giovanna must have floated once she was out of the room because she was already at the end of the hall. I jogged, trying to keep up with her. As soon as she entered the common room, she headed straight for Danny. He watched her with furrowed brows as she stormed his way. He opened his mouth to say something, but he never got a chance. Giovanna reached back and slapped the crap out of him.
