With balled fists, he took a step toward her. “What the fuck is your problem?!” he roared in her face.

I pushed him back, taking a step in front of Giovanna. “Back the fuck up!”

“Whoa, whoa, what’s going on?” Mercury inquired as he placed himself in between Danny and me.

Giovanna stepped around me, staring at Danny in anger. “This lying bastard is what’s going on!”

“Wow. A few days with trash and you start behaving just like them,” Nicole sneered at Giovanna.

“Now would really be a good time to shut the hell up, Nicole! I’m pretty sure you knew about Asha as well!”

Danny and Nicole’s eyes bucked, giving away their guilt.

“Who is Asha?” Mercury’s head ping-ponged between Giovanna and Danny.

“Derek’s mistress. The one who Danny never mentioned when Cara asked him if there was anyone Derek was at oddswith around the time of his murder, or who could be responsible for Gabi’s kidnapping.” Giovanna looked like she was going to spit fire at any given second.

“Giovanna, I can explain,” Derek tried to reason. “I didn’t want to taint your view of Derek about a meaningless affair. He never loved her. Only you. If I thought Asha had anything to do with what happened to Derek or Gabi, I would have spoken up.”

Giovanna looked up at Danny with hate-filled eyes before she lunged at him. I caught her by her waist, holding her back as she tried her best to get free. “HAVE YOU LOST YOUR DAMN MIND!” she screamed at him. “If you were as dedicated to finding Gabi as you are protecting your brother’s secret, you would know Asha is responsible for everything!”

“W-what?” he stuttered as he stared at her in anguish.

“Are you sure about this?” Mercury asked Sara and Cara.

“Positive. And just to be clear, I want Derek and Nicole off this case. Both of them wasted my time by withholding information.” Cara folded her arms while glaring at Derek and Nicole.

“Done.” Mercury nodded his head in agreement.

“What?!” Nicole screamed. She looked like in any second, foam would start spewing from her mouth.

Mercury raised a hand, silencing her. “At this point, Cara and Sara are our only chance at finding Gabi. You two knew about this Asha way before they did, and you didn’t say a single word. You’re off the case. Go back to the hotel, pack your bags, and go home.”

Nicole glared at Sara and then Cara, balling her fist. “You miserable fuckin’ bitch! You haven’t changed a bit! Always throwing your weight around like you run something. I thought after pushing a few bastards out, you would have grown up!”

You could hear a pin drop in the room. In the corner of my eyes I watched Blade, Red, and Thor help their women fromthe couch and stand in front of them. They knew something was definitely about to go down. I couldn’t believe she said that. I knew she had hatred for Cara, but to talk about innocent children like this was way out of line.

Viper, knowing his wife well, had already wrapped her in his arms, keeping her in place. “Let. Me. Go,” she said a little too calmly. The blank expression on her face was scary. I knew that look. Cara was ready to kill this girl right where she stood.

“No. You’re pregnant.” Viper refused to let her go as she fought against him. His eyes were on fire as he stared at Nicole. I knew he would love to watch Cara knock Nicole’s head off her shoulders for speaking of his children that way, but he would never allow her to endanger their unborn child.

Sara placed her hand on Cara’s shoulder. “Sis, he’s right. You’re pregnant.” She paused and turned to Nicole. “But I’m not.”

Sara charged Nicole, tackling her to the ground. She sat up and started pounding Nicole’s face. Giovanna gasped at the level of viciousness Sara was showing. Nicole helplessly tried to escape Sara, but she wasn’t having it. Sara pinned Nicole arms to the ground with her knees as she rearranged her face.

Danny tried pulling Sara off Nicole, but Bear snatched him back so hard he fell to the ground. Bear stood over him seething. He was ready to rip Danny apart.

Once Sara was satisfied with the beatdown she had given, she stood to her feet. Nicole was laid out on the ground in and out of consciousness. Sara’s chest heaved up and down as her cold eyes locked with Mercury. “Get this bitch out of here before I have her leaving in a body bag.”

“Danny, help her up and get out of here,” Mercury told him.

Danny stared at Giovanna with sorrowful eyes. “Giovanna, I am so sor?—”

She didn’t give him a chance to say whatever it was he was going to say. Giovanna did an about-face and followed Sara and Cara out of the room. With regret all over his face, Danny stood to his feet, pulled Nicole into his arms, and walked out the door.

Something told me this was only the beginning of the drama.
