“What was that?” he asked, glancing around the group.

Most of the women were avoiding his gaze while Sara and Cara wore poker faces, not giving anything away.

“Hello? Is anyone going to answer me? Why are you all acting so weird?” Will probed.

“W-what do you mean, Will?” Sofia stuttered.

Okay, they defiantly knew something, and I wanted to know what it was too.

“Oh, hell no. I’ve been working around your sisters for far too long to not know when someone is blowing smoke up my ass. You all know something. Now spill it,” he demanded.

Still, most of the women wouldn’t meet his gaze. Cara and Sara were the only two who were brave enough.

As if something dawned on him, he gasped with wide eyes. “You all know… don’t you?” The silence at the table was all the confirmation he needed. Turning to Alice, his brows furrowed. “You told them?” he accused.

“No! How could you think something like that?!” she asked, sounding offended.

“Then h-how?—”

“The cameras, Will,” Cara told him.

“What?”

“The cameras gave you away, Will. We knew long before Alice ever stepped foot on clubhouse grounds. Hell, I suspected you and Tech were messing around shortly after I hired you.”

My mouth dropped open as Cara finally revealed what this conversation was about. I had been lost this entire time. Now it all made sense. There were times when I saw Tech watching Will but tried to think nothing of it. During the time we were looking for Gabi, I heard Tech in the hall outside the cave, calling someone on his phone, referring to them asDimples, and begging them to talk. It was all coming together now. Tech and Will were in the middle of a lover’s quarrel.

“Wait, how the hell did you suspect anything between Tech and me shortly after you hired me? He and I were barely around each other.”

“Suddenly you forgot who I am or what I used to do? Will, you walked out of the cave one day, your neck littered in hickeys, after claiming you were looking for me.” Cara stared at him blankly while some of the ladies giggled, shaking their heads.

Will’s mouth fell open. “I thought I covered those with my jacket,” he whispered, palming his face. That caused the ladies to burst out in hysterics. “Wait, you said the cameras gave us away, too?”

“Yup,” Cara confirmed, popping the “p”, and wiggling her brows with a naughty smirk.

Will’s face morphed into horror. “Oh God,” he groaned.

We all howled with laughter right as he began filling us in on everything that had happened between him and Tech over the past few years. While he didn’t doubt Tech loved him, his unwillingness to commit openly was ultimately the demise of their relationship. I didn’t blame Will for ending it. Two years of being a secret could cause some real resentment. I could see in Will’s eyes the love he had for Tech. While there were moments he looked sad, just the mere mention of the good times between him and Tech made his entire face light up.

We were so caught up, talking and chatting, we didn’t notice a woman approaching the table until she spoke.

“Hey, ladies. Will.” She smiled brightly at everyone around the table, completely ignoring me. She looked familiar but I was having trouble remembering where I'd seen her. Then it clicked. She was the woman from the video Capone had shown me.

That same night we lay in his bed while I questioned him about her. In the moment he showed me the video, I was just relieved to see he hadn’t lied about not sleeping with another woman that it didn’t dawn on me how distraught she was. I needed to know the extent of their relationship to make her behave that way. I enjoyed being with Capone, but I wouldn’t be okay with him breaking up with someone just to be with me. That would make me feel like a home-wrecker. To me, I would be no better than Asha.

When he finally explained the extent of their relationship, I was stunned that she acted so heartbroken. They had causal sex but nothing solid. Luca didn’t hold a single detail back. I appreciated his honesty. Most men would have lied about sleeping with coworkers. It was at that moment I knew Capone would never lie to me.

Most of the ladies’ smiles slightly dropped before they politely spoke back.

“I was thinking we should all get together. Maybe go get our nails done or something. We haven’t hung out in a while.” The sneaky smile she had plastered on her face as she watched me intently let me know everything I needed to know.

Jamie knew exactly who I was.

“When have we hung out?” Cara inquired, wiping the smirk right off Jamie’s face.

“Really, Cara?” Jamie pursed her lips with embarrassment etched on her face.

“Yes, really.”
