My eyes widen, I wasn’t expecting that, just like I’m sure she’s not expecting to hear I fucked Nico. Not once, but twice in the same week. And like her, I also want more. So much more, but I keep that to myself. Not wanting to hear any judgment, I’m already doing enough of that myself, I shrug playfully. “Hey, nothing wrong with a little fun.”
She arches her brow. “Fun doesn’t even cut it, girl. It was everything, the only issue is E.” She frowns. It’s been months since she and Ezra split, and it’s not like Wyatt and E are good friends. They tolerate each other at best. Ezra screams Daddy—an old man trapped in a twenty-one-year-old’s body. While Wyatt is the residentfuck up, flamboyant, rich boy. He is the poster child for a man whore with a temper problem.
Exactly Tatiana's type.
“E?” I ask, needing to know more.
She looks back into the tunnel before she lets out a breath. “I don’t want things to be weird between us. He was pretty bummed when I dumped him.”
Before I can reply, a shrilling sound interrupts our conversation.

Fuck!
Before I can explain myself, I feel the burning glare of Tatiana.
“You’re fucking Nico, Shi?” The questions drag my attention away from my phone. My instinct tells me to lie, but the truth comes out instead. “Yes.”
“Shi, we don’t even know if he’s responsible for June.” She mutters, the look on her face is more disbelief than disgust.
“The cops cleared him early on.”
“His alibi was his fucking roommate. C’mon, Shi.” She snaps. Her anger takes me by surprise, or maybe I am a bigger scum than I originally thought. “Tati, it just happened, it wasn’t something I planned.”
She scoffs. “I would hope not. He’s fucking with your head, Shi. This is grief eating at you. He’s a liar.” She points at me, her finger feeling like the barrel of a gun. “You said this yourself, so many times before, or was it all deflection because you are the liar?” She raises a hand, dismissing me.
“Let’s just take a breather,” Tati breathes, putting her bag over her shoulder and turning away, leaving me alone in the bleachers as she disappears amongst the crowd. I’m not sure what the fuck just happened and why Tati is so pissed. Is she mad about the fact that I kept her in the dark or that she didn’t find out first?

The truth always comes to the light. Do you feel better, Shi?”
My heart thumps in my ears as I scan the guests, trying to find someone suspicious, but all I see is Nico, already cleaned up. Dressed in sweats and his leather jacket over his grey hoodie. Helmet in hand.
My body moves on its own accord, making sure to keep a safe distance as I follow him into the parking lot. Thankfully, we parked sorta close. Waiting inside my car, I listen for the purr of his R1 and wait for him to be safely ahead before following the man with all the secrets. If he won’t tell me the truth, I’ll follow him until I find it.
Chapter Twenty - Seven
Shiloh
Listening to “Moonlight,” by Chase Atlantic, through the car speakers, I trail close behind Nico. I watch him weave through traffic with ease, his hands leaving the bike's handles as he lets go. Arms open as he soars through the streets.
Free.
That must be the feeling he chases, as the wind wisps past him. I used to think he was the strange one, but here I am following him from a distance, one car behind. My heart is slamming against my ribs like it wants out. Nico’s motorcycle glides through the city like it knows exactly where his secrets exist.
He doesn’t speed.
He doesn’t look back.
But I swear he knows I’m here. Like he can feel the weight of me tailing him, aching to be close, even if I don’t know what I’ll say if he discovers me. I just need to see what he’s hiding. Can I trust him? Everything is so confusing now. I slap my hand on my forehead and groan.
What are you doing, Shiloh?
