“Oh God, you’re so wet,” he gasped.

For a few seconds his hand moved over my panties, rubbing and stroking tenderly and setting off fireworks in my body. Then his fingers slipped beneath the cotton panel.

The fireworks became lightning bolts.

I was overcome by what he was doing to me, the sensations coursing through my body, all centered on that white hot spot of pleasure. As his tongue plunged into my mouth in rhythmic strokes, his fingertips rubbed circles over the soft folds. It was impossible to stay quiet—or still.

Though I’d never experienced anything like this before, my body seemed to know what to do. It compelled me to rock into his hand as the maddening strokes and swirls continued.

“Yes, Angel,” Sully murmured against my damp cheek then moved his tormenting lips to my neck. “You’re so beautiful. You feel amazing, and I can’t wait to hear you come for the first time.”

He didn’t have to wait long. He thrust a strong finger inside me, maintaining the maddening, measured stroking on the front of my body as he caressed my inner walls.

My breaths became loud and fast, interspersed with whimpers of his name and the wordpleaseover and over. My entire body was tight, my bottom lifting off the dryer and toward him, rising with the steadily building pleasure.

Sully slid his finger deeper and moved his mouth to my breast. The minute his tongue swirled over the stiff nipple, the swelling pleasure burst. I couldn’t move, paralyzed by the stunning sensation.

What I could do apparently was scream. Sully moved quickly to muffle my wails with his mouth, kissing me and kissing me until the shattering spasms subsided and I slumped forward, resting against his chest, boneless and heavy and in absolute awe at what I’d just experienced.

At the experiencehe’dgiven me.

My hands clung to his biceps as I kissed his chest then rested my forehead in the juncture of his neck and shoulder.

“I’m sure I shouldn’t have done that.” I said through ragged breaths. “I can’t believe I did. I can’t believe I begged you like that. I don’t know what happened to me.”

“I do. We’re a done deal, Angel. You want me as much as I want you. It’s that simple.” He rubbed his hands over my back and stroked them down my hair.

“You’re right.” I nodded rapidly against his neck. “I do. I do want you. Let me touch you now.”

I sat up and reached for him. “I want to feel you without these on.”

Running my hand down the front of his stretchy underwear, I gripped the alluring shape beneath it, fascinated by its pulsing heat—and rather intimidating size.

When I started tugging at the waistband and slipping my hand inside, Sully stepped back with a pained laugh.

“I can’t. Not tonight.” He pressed his palms on both sides of his head and squeezed. “Believe me, I want to—more than anything. But I’ll be back in a week—after the fight. Then we’ll have all the time in the world. We can do this the right way.”

That’s when all the glowy, good feelings evaporated, and a hollow ache moved in to take their place.

Wincing, I put my hand over my knotted belly and pulled my hair over my shoulders to cover my chest. “I won’t be here when you get back.”

Sully’s head jerked back. “What are you talking about? A few minutes ago you said you wanted to make love with me—unless you wanted to go upstairs and do a puzzle. I thought that meant you wanted to be with me.”

“No. I mean, yes, that’s what I want—to be with you—that way,” I said. “So much. But just for tonight. This is our one chance. I want it so I can keep the memory with me and have it always... after I go into religious service.”

“What?” Sully literally staggered backward. His face was a portrait of disbelief and displeasure. “No. You can’t mean that.”

I slid from the dryer to the floor, coming to stand in front of him and looking up at him. From this angle he seemed like a giant. I did my best to make eye contact, to make him understand.

“I do. The girls don’t need me anymore. I made a promise... and I’ve decided I’m going to keep it.”

“A promise that was coerced out of you when you were a little girl. You’re just scared. This is all new, and it’s probably overwhelming, but you don’t have to be scared, Angel. I’m going to take care of you. Everything’s going to work out.”

“It’s not because I’m scared. It’s just something I have to do.”

“And what about me?” The hurt in his eyes made my chest feel like it was cracking in half. “Youhaveto leave me—after all we’ve shared? After tonight?”

A hard lump formed in my throat, radiating pain and nearly choking my speech.
