“After what I just experienced, I don’t even want that nigga fucking me in his dreams.”

We took a quick shower together, and it took everything in me not to fuck her again. Devyn’s pussy was better than any I’d ever had, and I couldn’t wait to experience her again.

She slipped back into her hoodie, sweats, and slides, while I only donned a pair of underwear. At my door, we were caught up in a kiss that I wished could last forever. She finally pulled away and looked into my eyes.

“You’re the reason I didn’t notice everything wrong between me and Maurice. Everything I wanted to do with him, I did with you. I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t notice I was doing them with the wrong person.”

I shook my head. “I was never the wrong person.”

I kissed her forehead, opened the door, and waited until she was inside before closing my door. The fallout from this would be bad, but I had no regrets.

“Aye, I got home late as hell last night. If Devyn asks you anything, tell her we were here late discussing business and went to get some food.”

It was the night after I’d crossed every line there was to be crossed with Devyn. I was in my office, where I spent most of the nights when I worked atELR, going over paperwork. Last I knew, Maurice wasn’t coming in, so I was confused by his presence.

“I told you to stop using me as your alibi,” I responded, without looking up from the papers in front of me.

“It was all I could think of at the last minute. Oh, and I told her you had a date last night. She might ask you how it was.”

I nodded but still didn’t look at him. He continued to ramble about the woman he’d been with last night. Just the mention of the night before made me tune him out and reminisce about my time with Devyn. It was a good thing I was seated because by the time I tuned back into the bullshit he was talking, my dick was hard as hell.

“It sounds like she was a good time.”

“Hell yeah. That’s why I’m here tonight. She wanted to hook up again, but I’m meeting her at her place.”

“Do you ever think about how Devyn might feel if she found out about all the women you’ve been with since y’all been together?”

He laughed dismissively. “That would never happen. She might find out about one or two, but never all of them.”

“Oh, I guess that makes it better.”

“It does. She’ll forgive me for one or two.”

“You think so?”

“Hell yeah. She loves me, wants to marry me, and have my children. Plus, after being with someone for five years, who wants to start over?”

I shook my head, already sick of the conversation. Maurice thought he could do no wrong and that Devyn would never leave him. His confidence made me question whether or not he was right.

“I need to get back to this paperwork so I can show my face before leaving.”

“Cool. I’ll let you get back to it. I told Devyn?—”

“Keep me outta that shit, man.”

He laughed again before leaving my office, closing the door behind him. I didn’t think Devyn was foolish enough to stay with Maurice, knowing what she knew, but stranger things had happened. I pushed the thoughts from my mind and focused on the tasks at hand, and about an hour passed before I heard a tap on my door.

“Come in.”

The door opened slowly, and I smiled wide when I saw it was Devyn.

“Hey. What are you doing here?”

“I’m off tonight and was bored. You busy?”

“Am I ever too busy for you?”

She closed the door, locking it before she approached my desk.
