“To consult with lawyers out there about family law and child law and what our options are. I think the judge is doing the same. Barker’s team has a week to produce what the judge is asking for.”

“You don’t think they will?”

Damian grimaced. “They might.”

Collin nodded. “Or they might not.”

“Exactly.” Damian sighed. “Paulsen is coming with. I shouldn’t be gone long, but I wanted to see you before I headed out.”

“Thanks.” Collin grabbed his Residency brother in a hug. “Travel safe.”

“Don’t get into any more hospitals while I’m gone.”

“I’ll try.” Collin grinned. “I should be good. Holden or one of his buddies are following me everywhere except inside this office, and all the exits are covered.”

That night at The Residency, Émeric greeted Collin and Richard with hugs at the door. Richard went to his office to decompress while Collin changed out of his suit and joined his sir in the kitchen to cook dinner. There was a package on the table.

Émeric motioned Collin toward it. “Open it.”

Collin picked up the box. “Why do I have an ominous feeling about this?”

“Maybe because I heard you were late with your Master’s lunch.”

Collin groaned.

Émeric chuckled. “Go on, look.”

Collin opened it. Inside was a fairly standard-looking butt plug, battery operated, with vibrator settings.

“It’s remote-controlled via an app. Doesn’t even require a phone nearby. Now we can remind you whenever we want.”

Collin covered his face with his hand. “You wouldn’t. In public?”

“It’s very quiet, discreet.”

Collin wailed. “Yeah, but I might not be.”

Émeric chuckled. “Well, that part is up to you. I’m sure I won’t have to use anything but the lowest setting to get your attention.”

“You have my attention now.”

“Hush, every time you feel it, you’ll know one of us is thinking about you. There are two pulse settings. One for me; one for Richard. You’ll figure out which belongs to which soon enough.”

Collin glared at his sir. “You’re evil.”

Émeric grinned. “Careful, boy. There are so many ways I can prove you right. Now, do you want to cut some ginger?”

“Is it going in dinner or in me?”

“That entirely depends on how much complaining you plan to do.”

Collin dropped the box and washed his hands. Nope. No more complaining today.

Tuesday morning, Ash was preoccupied, not even picking up his books after Zhou Laoshi had left, just watching his tablet.

Collin nudged him. “You okay?”

Ash shrugged and stood up, eyes still on the pad. “Just a bad feeling. I haven’t been able to see anything in two days. They’ve changed their patterns, and it hasn’t gone back.”
