This is the best way to get our fresh start.

She stays glued to the window the entire drive, only tearing her gaze away from the countryside long enough to look at me with a large grin. By the time we finally make it to my house, she is bouncing in her seat. I’ve never seen her this excited before, but I love it. I’m happy to be able to do this for her.

“I’ll take Kerri and get her settled,” Hannah says after I finish giving her a tour of the house. “This is a beautiful house, Holden. I can’t believe that you have somewhere like this. I love all the light vibrant colors and dark woods and soft fabrics.”

“If you want to change anything about the house, you’re more than welcome to. It’s your home too and I want you to be comfortable here.”

She smiles and shifts Kerri in her arms. Ever since the kidnapping, she always has Kerri close to her at all times now. It’s nearly impossible for me to even get some alone time with her but I’m sure things will change soon enough. She still feels guilty and blames herself for not watching Kerri close enough. I try to tell her that the kidnappers were professionals and that there was nothing she could have done differently to prevent it from happening, but Hannah will not listen to reason on the topic.

“I might want to make one of the extra bedrooms into a writing room for me, but other than that, it’s perfect the way it is.”

“Perfect. I can help you do that,” I tell her.

I kiss the top of her head before stepping into the kitchen. Hannah takes off down the hall to the bedroom I had set up for Kerri. The housekeeping staff got a crib and a baby monitor in there while we were flying out here.

As Hannah puts Kerri down for a nap, I grab a bottle of wine from the cellar and bring it upstairs. Hannah comes back into the kitchen as I’m pouring two glasses. Her face lights up as I hand her the glass before leading her through the door to the garden.

She gasps as she looks out over the garden wall, the vineyard stretching far beyond it. Hannah takes a seat on one of the double wide loungers, sipping her wine. Her eyes are wide and her mouth open slightly.

I sip my wine and sit on the lounger beside her, looping an arm over her shoulders. “We’re going to make some great memories up here.”

“Where do you want this relationship to go?” she asks, watching the wind rustle the leaves of the grape vines in the distance. “I know you want to be with us, but what do you see this evolving into?”

“You’re my family. You have been since the day Kerri came into this world and linked us together.” I set down my glass of wine and turn to the side to face her. “I love you, Hannah. One day I’m going to ask you to marry me and I’m going to hope that you say yes.”

Her cheeks flush a pretty shade of pink. “I don’t think there’s a world in which I would ever say no.”

My heart soars as I lean in and kiss her, my tongue tangling together with hers. Hannah moans as she moves to straddle my lap, her fingers running through my hair. I slide my hands beneath her shirt, feeling her soft skin. She writhes on top of me as I brush my thumbs over her nipples.

“I’ve missed this,” she says as I kiss my way down her neck. Her back arches as she holds onto my shoulders, grinding her core against my erection.

I suck on the sensitive flesh at the base of her neck, my erection only growing harder at the sounds of her moans. Hannah rolls her hips, grinding against me until I feel like I’m not going to be able to hold on much longer.

“I’ve missed this too.” I pull her shirt over her head, tossing it to the side.

All it takes is a flick of my fingers and her bra falls away from her body. I lean forward, taking one of her nipples into my mouth and teasing it with my teeth. Her back arches as she starts to unbutton my shirt. She pushes the shirt off my shoulders as I switch to her other nipple.

Hannah shifts off me and pulls off her shorts, her bare skin shining in the sun. I kick off the rest of my clothing before hovering over her. She runs her fingers through my hair as I start at her neck and kiss my way down her body. I trace patterns on her skin with my tongue, taking time to savor the moment as I work my way down to her little bundle of nerves.

Her hips buck off the lounger as I suck the little bud and thrust two fingers into her. I groan as her wetness coats my fingers while I tease her with my tongue. Her inner walls clench harder around my fingers as her hips rock.

“Come for me,” I say before circling my tongue around her bundle of nerves. My erection aches as she orgasms, her inner walls pulsating around me until she slumps back into the cushion.

I kiss my way back up her body while her nails rake down my back and arms. She hooks her legs around my waist as I kiss her again, our tongues intertwining.

As I thrust my hardened length into her, I nip at her bottom lip. She tightens her legs around my waist. Her heels dig into my back as I rock my hips faster, driving deeper into her.

My erection throbs as Hannah digs her nails into my back, her second orgasm racing through her. I kiss her slowly as I finish, wanting to savor the moment until we’re both spent.

“Want to go test out that outdoor shower I saw?” Hannah asks, grinning up from beneath me.

I grab her phone off the cushion where it fell out of her pocket, checking the baby monitor app. “She’s still sleeping soundly; I think we have more than enough time.”

Hannah gets up and takes off for the outdoor shower, adding a sway to her round hips that has my mouth watering. As I follow along behind her, I’m entirely entranced. I could stay here forever.

The sun is setting as Kerri runs through the vineyards as fast as her little legs will carry her. Hannah is laughing as she runs after Kerri, pretending to try and catch her only to let her get away. I walk behind the pair of them, my hands tucked in my pockets.

There’s something about watching the two of them together that makes me wish I could go back in time and do it all over again. If I could, I would. There is no way that I would have left Hannah after we slept together that first night. I would have spent days just trying to convince her to go on a proper date with me.
