I can feel my body relaxing and am just about to pull out of her when our bedroom door comes flying open with a bang.
Kira screams as I let go of her and scramble for my gun on the floor. I set it down there when I came in to check on her.
Everything happens so fast it takes my brain a second to catch up, but when it does, how I wish I never saw what I saw.
Maxim, standing inside my bedroom, a gun raised, pointing right at me. Alexei is next to him, Nik on his other side.
They obviously snuck in quietly. Since I was distracted having sex, I didn’t hear a thing.
Kira scrambles to cover herself with the bedsheet, her eyes widening when she notices her brothers.
My pants are still open, my now flaccid cock out. Shit. They literally caught me with my pants down.
“Grab him,” Maxim growls, nodding at me.
I hesitate too long to fire my gun, thinking about how Kira would never forgive me if I hurt one of her family members. It’s enough of hesitation for Alexei and Nik to grab me and knock the gun out of my hands. My brain is still disoriented from my orgasm, and I’m not thinking straight.
I groan as Alexei knocks me to the ground, pressing his knee into my back. Nik holds my arms down, making it impossible for me to escape.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Maxim approach Kira, who’s now covered with a blanket. Her head is ducked in shame.
Is she ashamed of me?
“Kira, it’s all right,” Maxim says softly. “I’m here to rescue you. You never need to be afraid again.”
Kira doesn’t respond; she only keeps her head down.
Maxim turns to me. And if looks could kill …
“You fucking bastard,” he snarls, kicking me in the face.
Kira screams. “Maxim, no!”
“You thought you could rape my sister and not get caught?” He kicks me again. I’m pretty sure my nose is broken. I don’t say a word, knowing that no matter what I say, Maxim will not believe me.
I’ve been caught.
I don’t see a way out of this.
“Huh?” Maxim kicks me again.
“Maxim, stop,” Kira cries.
“Kira, be quiet!” he yells at her. She shrinks back.
“Don’t yell at her,” I snarl.
“You don’t get to speak,” Alexei says, digging his knee harder into my back. “You broke that right when you stole our sister.”
Maxim crouches down, so I can see him better. “You thought you could beat me. You used my sister to hurt me. You’ve hurt her in unimaginable ways. You’ve ruined her innocence. After I’m done with you, I hope you die in hell, Erik Novikoff.” He spits on my face.
“Maxim,” Kira whispers. “Please, listen to me.”
Maxim glances at her. “Kira, stay out of this. This is between Erik and me.”
“No. I’m a part of this now, too. You haven’t even asked me how I feel.”
He blinks before standing up and approaching her, running a hand over her head like she’s a child. “You’re right. I’m sorry. I’m going to get you home where you’ll be safe. I promise.” I buck against Alexei and Nik, but they press down on me tighter. I’m stuck.
