Ezer clung to Ned’s shoulders at his rough thrusts grew faster, tighter, and then ended with a smashing, groan-soaked, and sweat-perfumed climax. Ned’s body shook and his arms threatened to drop Ezer for a moment, but then he leaned in, pinning Ezer’s body to the wall with his full weight, and he kissed his neck, his collarbones, and his shoulders, avoiding his mouth and nipples.

“Tell me,” Ned whispered, when he finished coming in Ezer’s convulsing ass. “Tell me to kiss you.”

Ezer shook his head. He wouldn’t. He would never.

But within moments, he felt the impact of Ned’s semen deposit inside him, the way his emotions calmed, the gentle affection trickling into his heart and mind. The unfairness of his biology tricking him into saying, “Kiss me.”

Ned nuzzled his neck and hair, and then, sweetly, like it was their first kiss—and, in a way, perhaps it was, since the others had been during the mindlessness of heat—he took Ezer’s mouth with his own. Ezer groaned at his tender lips, the sweetness of his tongue, and found that he couldn’t stop himself from chasing Ned’s mouth when he pulled away.

“There now,” Ned said, lowering Ezer to his feet and holding him steady. He felt the precious cum start to leak out, and he reached down to push it back in. He needed it inside…or else he’d want this again too soon.

Ned’s eyes followed his frantic attempts to push the cum back up, and he swooped Ezer into his arms, carrying him out of the bright living area and down a dark hall to an even darker bedroom.

No windows.

One door.

The bed was soft, smooth, and cool against Ezer’s back.

“Tell me,” Ned said as he lay on top of Ezer. “Tell me what you need.”

“Do it again,” Ezer said, betraying himself with his next words. “Make it go away. Makemego away. Fill me up with only you.”

Ned, it seemed, was happy to comply.

Ned left Ezerin the dark bedroom sleeping and spent.

It had taken three times, with each fuck growing longer and more intense in the heated darkness of the room, for Ezer to give way to his nature and let himself feel their combined bliss. He’d swallowed Ned’s load, then taken it in his ass again, and with each deposit he’d grown looser, calmer, more intimate and reciprocal.

It’d been the best sex of Ned’s life outside of the heat, but he knew it still wasn’t as good as it could get. Even though the seminal compounds were working on Ezer’s mind, in his heart there was still resistance, and it wasn’t true affection. Not yet.

There was still too much between them. If he could keep Ezer calm long enough, they’d have some good, honest talks soon about the past, about the present, and about their future. Hopefully, he’d given Ezer enough semen now he’d stop fighting him every step of the way at least.

Ned pulled on a robe and went out to the living room to find Earl clearing up the shattered plates, glasses, and the food mess Ezer had made earlier.

“He’s frightened, I see,” Earl said, as Ned knelt down next to him and began to help.

Ned nodded. He wanted to tell his old nurse that he was frightened too, but he remembered Ezer’s damning commentary at the beach: he was the alpha. He was supposed to be the one to help Ezer through his fears, not indulge in his own.

“What are you doing to help him?”

“The usual.”

Earl scoffed. “Obviously.” He motioned at Ned’s appearance, and said, “A shower would be in order before you go anywhere or see anyone else.”

“It’s a nest,” Ned said, defensively. “What were you expecting?”

“Nothing less, nothing more. I just don’t know if you realize how you look right now.”

“That’s the least of my problems,” Ned said, running a hand through his hair. He stood with the collected pieces of plate, and took them to the garbage can Earl had dragged in.

“What is your biggest problem? Let’s tackle it first.”

“He hates me.”

“Ah…” Earl went wide-eyed. “So you haven’t been able to explain to him about the way things were before, with Braden and Finch, and your father?”

Ned sat down on the sofa, scrubbing his hands through his hair. “I did tell him about it, but he wasn’t impressed.”
