“To school?”
“Yeah.”
“Tomorrow.”
“Oh.”
Ned kissed Ezer’s temple. “I’ll bring you something special, though. What do you want? Name anything?”
Ezer didn’t know how to express what he really wanted, what he’d fantasized about as they’d fucked—a way to turn back time and meet Ned in a different way, in a different place, and to choose each other freely—so he said, “A new Advanced Calculus workbook. Mr. Shein should have one put aside for me. He’ll give it to you.”
“I’ll bring it. No problem.”
No problem for Ned, but Ezer was going to be so bored and so alone. It was enough to make him almost panic, but he held it in, and let Ned finger his cum-filled ass until Earl’s footsteps sounded on the stairs down to the nest.
Dinner was served.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Having never hadan omega in residence and being an only child, Ned had never realized just how much sex went into maintaining a pregnant omega.
As he left Ezer sprawled sated in bed, and got up to dress for school, he worried his balls were so drained from the last many days of fucking and coming that he’d been unable to leave Ezer full with enough semen to satisfy Ezer’s growing needs while he was away.
But what was done was done. He had to go, or risk being late, and that would bring more attention to him than he wanted on his first day back after his unexpectedly long break.
In the upstairs kitchen, Ned ate the breakfast Earl had prepared, though he had a knot in his stomach that made it hard to swallow the buttered bun down. He didn’t want to leave Ezer. He knew he’d be safe enough, and his omega seemed to have accepted his situation, so he didn’t think he had to worry about Ezer deciding to take off out of the nest. But he’d still been tempted to ask for a longer reprieve from school, at least until Ezer was well and truly showing, because there was no way Ezer would be able to leave the nest on his own then.
But right now…
Well, Ned didn’t think Ezer had anywhere to go. He was still angry with his father and his da, and while he seemed interested in connecting with his brothers, he also seemed ashamed of the idea he might appear weak to them. He didn’t know the dynamic Ezer had grown up with in the Fersee household, but he suspected Ezer’s older omega brothers had all warned him at least once to comply with their father’s demands or to expect certain consequences.
Now, pregnant with said consequences, Ezer clearly felt shame.
“Son, I’m glad I caught you.”
Ned jerked at the sound of his Lidell’s voice. He’d been so overwhelmed with Ezer the last many days, and his father had been gone so long, he’d almost forgotten he lived in the house, too. Amazing how his world had narrowed to Ezer, the nest, sex, and little else. This unexpected meeting was like the world cracking open again. Just in time to leave for school.
“You’re back,” Ned said, standing up to clasp Lidell in a hug. He had problems with Lidell, but he loved him, and in the face of Ezer’s complicated family relationships, he felt lucky to have only an entitled spendthrift as his father.
Though Ned was still unsure about a lot of choices they’d made lately—like how things had gone down with Ezer—he was at least sure Lidell loved him. Maybe not as much as he loved spending money, but more than a father who’d paid to have his son taken off his hands.
“How’s your omega?” Lidell said, taking the empty seat at the table next to Ned and pouring some coffee from the carafe Earl had prepared for Ned.
“He’s pregnant.”
“Doctor confirmed?”
Ned shook his head. “He’s supposed to come today. I wanted to be here for it, but…” He winced, hating how he’d let Ezer down on that front too. “I should have told the school I wouldn’t be back until next week. I should have insisted.”
“Is your omega is still fighting you?”
“No. He never really foughtme. He just fought the circumstances.” Ned was trying to convince himself of that anyway.
Lidell smiled. “This experience will teach him, don’t worry. All omegas live for heats. You’ll see. This baby will come, and in no time at all, he’ll be asking the doctor to trigger another so he can do this all again.”
Ned worked his jaw. He didn’t know what to say to that. He didn’t know if that was true of Ezer, or “all omegas,” or if that was just what alphas were told to believe so it was easier for them to take the pleasure they wanted, without care for the omega’s true needs and desires. If “all omegas” lived for heats, then alphas could feel like they were right and good to fill them with babes endlessly, because omegas were “just like that”.
“He isn’t happy, though,” Ned said. “He’s struggling.”
