Assuming Braden was still there. He was a Tenmeter, after all, and would be released as soon as money had passed hands. And then Ned would kill him. He’d murder him. He’d watch his face turn purple and then—

“Ned,” Adrien said softly. “Your omega needs you.”

Ned caught his uncle’s eye and said, “I’ll explain everything soon.”

Heath nodded.

Adrien pulled Earl aside and seemed to be informing him of the events of the afternoon. First fear and then anger slammed over Earl’s face.

Ezer, though, was gone. He’d already left and taken the stairs down to the nest.

Ned followed him, his emotions a wail of extremity.

Ezer didn’t wantto be in the nest, but he couldn’t be up in the living room with all those people either. Adrien had been kind, and Heath had been too, in his own way, but it was all too much.

Earlier, he’d been forced to bend over for Braden Tenmeter, and he’d felt the monster’s cock against his hole. He’d been helpless to stop him. If Ned’s uncle hadn’t arrived—and why had he even come by?—he’d have been raped and violated, and not only himself but his unborn children would have had Braden’s vileness forced on them, too.

He wanted to seal himself up into the nest.

He wanted to smash out the windows and jump to freedom.

He wanted to run away.

He wanted to hide.

Ezer stood stock still in the middle of the room. He sensed Ned’s presence behind him, advancing on him, about to touch him.

He screamed.

The sound echoed off the walls and ceiling and floor.

“Oh God!” Ned cried, flinging his arms around Ezer. “You’re hurt. You’re in pain. Baby, let me help you!”

Ezer yelled until his lungs were empty and then he slumped back into Ned’s strength. Tears spilled over his cheeks, and he whispered, “He wrenched my arm. He pushed me over the table. He put his cock against my hole.”

Ned growled and the sound was so loud it rattled Ezer’s body.

“I was scared. He almost—he nearly—”

“I’ll kill him,” Ned said again.

Ezer shrugged off Ned’s arms, and turned around, dropping the sheet he’d been draped in since Adrien had covered him with it earlier. “You should have dealt with him before now,” he rasped. “You knew he was a problem. But you let him just keep on. You’re a coward.”

Ned’s eyes widened. “He’s BradenTenmeter. What was I supposed to do?”

“Report him for attempted rape—”

“Heath already did that! And I’ll back him up!”

“I meant the first time,” Ezer said, cold creeping into his veins. “You told me I’d be safe as your omega. Your father promised my father the same too, didn’t he? And yet you let a monster go without facing any repercussions for what he did to me, what you saw him do—”

“He was just—”

“He was just what?”

“I didn’t think he’d try again!”

“With me? Or with any other omega?”
