Nyelle pulledup to her sister’s house. Rhyot allowed her to push his most prized possession, his car. She loved how smoothly his car drove. It was much better than her beat up Toyota. Ny peeked in the rearview mirror where Rhyelle was buckled into her car seat, munching on fruit snacks with her headphones on and her iPad in her lap.
Neeya was already posted up on her porch with a scarf on, nursing a blunt. Ny hadn’t seen her sister in over a week and was dying to fill her in on everything going on.
As soon as Nyelle parked, Neeya shouted across the yard. “Uh-uhn, bitch, this ain’t your damn car! Where your bucket at?”
Nyelle rolled her eyes, ignoring her sister’s shade as she focused on handing Rhyelle an apple juice box which the little girl readily accepted.
Neeya slowly strutted down the steps to get a good look at the vehicle parked in front of her house. She focused her attention on the custom plate that read Rhy0t. “Nyelle Kelis Collins, I know damn well you didn’t...”
“Neeya, if you don’t shut up and stop being so damn dramatic.. Get in.”
Ny issued a warning with her hands still on the steering wheel. Neeya sat in the car, looking at how pristine the interior was, then her eyes landed on her niece who she greeted before turning her attention back to Nyelle who had pulled off.
“So you gon’ tell me how you got this muthafucka’s car or not?” Neeya paused, as if something clicked inside of her head. “You put it on him, didn’t you?” Neeya cheesed as she looked at her younger sister.
Nyelle rolled her eyes, trying to conceal her smile. “You trying to hit the mall or get food first?”
“Whatever works best for you. I’m not paying for shit.” Neeya shrugged and leaned back in the seat, letting the window down.
“Girl, he just got home and already got me wide open,” Nyelle admitted as they cruised through the city. “He’s been loving on me and Rhy. I swear I love it here Ya-Ya, but it feels too good to be true. ”
“Sis, this is something you basically always wanted. You got the man, don't jinx yourself.”
“Maybe you’re right,” Nyelle said softly as she beamed inwardly.
“Quiet as kept, if I had a best friend half as fine as Rhyot’s ass, he would’ve been good and fucked a long time ago.” This caused Nyelle to cut her eyes at her sister. Seeing that her little sister wasn’t in the mood for jokes, Neeya threw her hands up in mock surrender as she burst into a fit of laughter.
“Bitch, don’t get your ass left on the side of the road.” Nyelle issued a warning, briefly cutting her eyes over then back on the road.
“Okay! Okay! Possessive already? I’m playing. Damn, calm down. Anyways, just have Rhyot hook me up with Weez sexy ass.”
“I’ll think about it," Nyelle retorted quickly, obviously still salty from the comment Neeya made about Rhy. Yeah, she had it bad for him, and quick too.
They soon made it to the mall and headed straight for Hibbett’s first. Nyelle knew exactly what she wanted. She, Rhy, and Lil Rhy were going to match. Ny told him her thoughts before heading out and he told her he was cool with that. She grabbed the toddler size all white Air Force Ones on the display rack and held them up for the sales associate to see, stating the three sizes she needed. She was sure her and Rhy’s sizes were available.
Neeya playfully rolled her eyes. “Ohhh boy, y’all trying to make a statement, huh?”
Nyelle smirked. “Block party comin’ up. We all gon’ step out together. Period.”
“I like that,” Neeya sang and tapped her index finger and thumb together in the “clock it” motion.
Rhyelle squealed from the stroller, kicking her feet like she approved.
After paying for all three pairs of sneakers plus a pair of Jordans for Neeya, they headed to the next store, H&M. She went over to the tan cargo shorts, scanned through the sizes, and picked them up, not even worried about the price. “He would like something simple like this. What you think?” Nyelle didn’t even wait for a response as she handed the shorts to her sister.
“I think your ass is sounding like somebody’s damn wife, that's what I think.”
Nyelle giggled like a little school girl as she continued to flip through the racks. “I just know what he would wear. I’ve known him forever.”
“Oh I know. Y'all caused so much damn ruckus back in the day.”
They continued to shop and poor Neeya soon realized she was holding the majority of the bags. Well, at least the ones that didn’t fit on the stroller. Neeya decided to sit outside of Zara with Rhyelle while Ny went inside by herself.
Ny quickly picked out everything for her fit and made her way over to the baby section to get Lil Rhy right as well. She was able to cash out rather quickly. Neeya sat on the bench with Rhyelle in her lap, bouncing her. Before Nyelle could get a word out, her phone rang. She pulled the phone from her pocket and studied the contact name, which caused her to smile from ear to ear.
“Hello,” she sang sweetly into the receiver, waving for her sister to come. She watched as Neeya sucked her teeth and strapped Lil Rhy in, causing her to become fussy.
