But also, Logan might have been the one recording all of Luke's songs? What did that even mean? Did Luke lip sync at concerts? Was he just a giant fraud?
And why would Logan do it?
She couldn't ask any of these questions though, afraid they'd make Logan close up tighter than he had been when they first met. No, she couldn't tell him she suspected at all.
At least not yet.
Who would have ever thought Diego could make somethinglessawkward? Because that's exactly what he did when he let them into his room. Will was gone at practice with Killian, which was probably a good thing, and Diego offered them both a smile as he adjusted his glasses.
"Sorry I wasn't here earlier, Wylder." He dropped into his computer chair, leaving only the bed for Wylder and Logan.
"No worries." She sat and scooted away from Logan to get some distance. "So, um, our project. We were hoping you could work up some holograms or something so we wouldn't have to go on stage."
Diego nodded. "I mean, I could try." He adjusted his glasses again—a nervous tic. "I've never done anything like that before and can't guarantee it would work." He launched into a speech about code and the different techniques that could be used.
"Diego." Wylder waved a hand at him. "I'm sure you can cook something up."
Diego sighed and gave her that look she'd grown used to, the one where people knew she didn't understand what they were trying to say. "Wylder, I'm saying I don'tknowif I can. You should be prepared in case I can't."
"You can do anything." She had full confidence in Diego's brain.
And even if he couldn't, maybe this was how she tested her theory. Their project now had a new goal.
Wylder had a new mission.
If Luke Cook had gained his fame because of his brother's voice, she was going to find out.

By Monday morning, Wylder was no closer to working up the courage to ask Logan point-blank about his voice. And she was also no closer to convincing Sebastian whatever they'd had was in the past and they had to leave it there.
When she got to English, Sebastian wasn't there yet, but Logan would hardly look at her. He'd talked to her over the weekend, so she assumed it was just this class reminding him how much she'd messed up. Instead of taking her usual seat between Diego and Logan, she slid in next to Devyn.
Devyn gave her a strange look. "Um, hello? Kaitlyn usually sits there."
"Kaitlyn will survive. Is it such a bad thing for me to want to hang with my roommate?"
Devyn rolled her eyes, but Wylder ignored her.
"Psst, Wylder." Adam leaned over. "Hey."
"Uh, hi?" He was one of the many people at this school who never talked to her.
"I'm having a party in my dorm this coming weekend, but my father cut off my black card."
"Shame." She tried to hold back a laugh. These rich kids and their credit card problems.
"Yeah, well, I'm sort of lacking the funds for the party."
"And what does this have to do with little old me?" She lifted a brow. "Adam, do you need a loan? I could raid my piggy bank."
"What? No. But rumor says you have a key to the kitchens off the main dining hall."
She tensed. "Rumor is wrong." She could get in a lot of trouble for having stolen the key. Well, she didn't really steal it. She sweet-talked one of the boys who was sentenced to help in the kitchen last year as a punishment into getting it for her.
"Aw, come on."
"Mr. Carson." Sebastian towered over him. "Class has started." His hard eyes landed on Wylder. "Miss Anderson, that isn't your seat."
