“Diego, my friend, my buddy.” Wylder bounced up to his desk.
Without glancing up from his screen, he shoved his glasses up on his nose. “What do you want, Wylder? I’m working on cleaning up some issues with the app.”
“I’m hungry.”
“You have more food in your room than the dining hall has.”
“I want a juicy burger with fries and a shake.”
Diego finally looked up from crunching his numbers or whatever it was he did that took so much of his focus. “Where are you going to get that at this hour?”
“Come on, we’re going to the Main.”
“We’re not allowed to sneak off campus.”
“We won’t get caught. Come on, get dressed. I’ll go get Killer.”
“He’s not going to break the rules either, Wylder.” He shifted his glasses back up again.
“If I can get him to go, will you go?” She asked sweetly.
“Yeah, okay.” He nodded. “But only if Killian agrees.”
“Perfect. Be right back.”
Wylder shot down the hall to Killian’s room, tiptoeing into his bedroom so as not to wake Will. Will was great, but tonight she needed her besties.
“Wake up, Killer.” Wylder pounced on his bed.
“Wha? What’s happening?” His eyes flew open. “Oh, it’s you.” He groaned. “What are you up to now, Wylds?”
“Get up. Me and Diego are going to get cheeseburgers.”
“You and Diego?” Killian frowned. “My Diego?”
“He’s mine too, you know.”
“And how do you propose to tear him away from his computer?”
“He’s getting dressed now. He needs the break.”
“He needs a break, yes, but he doesn’t need to get into trouble for sneaking off campus with the local troublemaker.”
“That’s why you have to come with us. Otherwise, it’s just me and Diego, and who knows what trouble we’ll get into without supervision.”
“I hate you.” Killian groaned and threw his blankets off.
“Whatever, you love me.”
“Check with me about that again when I have to be on the ice at six in the morning.”
“You people just don’t know how to enjoy the art of sleeping.”
“Says the girl waking me up in the middle of the night to go eat cheeseburgers.”
“It’s called sleeping in, Killer. You should try it sometime.”
“Not during hockey season, I can’t.”
