CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Ford

Lunch is fine.Ashley’s nice enough, and Maddie is having the time of her life, babbling about how surreal this whole thing is. Asher plays along, making her laugh, keeping things light.

I mostly just watch her. Watch the way she lights up, how expressive she is, how she’s completely incapable of hiding what she’s thinking.

It’s cute as hell.

Ashley eventually checks her phone and sighs. “I have a spa appointment, and then I’m flying out tonight.” She gives Maddie a smile. “It was really nice meeting you. I get why these two are so obsessed.”

Maddie blinks, her cheeks turning pink. “Uh—thanks?”

Ashley just laughs, waving it off. “You’re adorable.” She turns to Asher. “You’re walking me out, right?”

“Yeah, of course.”

As soon as she’s gone, Maddie exhales. “That was insane. She’s even prettier in person.”

“She’s cool,” I say.

Asher slides back into his seat, his hazel eyes glinting. “She definitely knows something’s up.”

Maddie stills. “Wait, what?”

I stretch an arm across the back of her chair. “He means the fact that we’re both looking at you like we want to devour you.”

Asher shrugs, completely unbothered. “She asked. I didn’t confirm or deny anything.”

Maddie’s throat works as she swallows, her gaze darting between us. She’s flustered, shifting in her seat, her fingers toying with the napkin on her lap. “Well… she’s not wrong.”

Asher’s grin turns sharp. “No, she’s not.”

I let my fingers drift beneath the table, brushing along the soft skin of her thigh. Maddie lets out a tiny gasp, her breath catching. Asher does the same on her other side, fingers tracing slow circles.

Her pulse is a flutter beneath my touch.

“We should probably finish our dessert,” Asher muses, voice full of amusement.

Maddie exhales shakily. “And then?”

I lean in, dragging my lips along her ear. “Then we take you home.”

Asher’s fingers tighten on her thigh. “And we talk about how this is gonna work.”

She shudders. “I like the sound of that.”

I chuckle, dragging my hand higher. “Thought you might.”

I stroke her thigh beneath the table, watching the way she squirms, how she fights to keep from making a sound. By the time the check arrives, she’s breathless, her skin flushed, her pupils dilated.

She’s already wrecked.

The car ride home? Even better.

Asher slides into the driver’s seat while I guide Maddie into the back, pulling her onto my lap. She gasps as I settle her, her back flush against my chest, my hands spreading her thighs.

“Part them,” I murmur, my lips brushing her ear. “Face forward.”
