The nurse smiled, “No news yet. They are both still in surgery, but you don’t need to stay in here. I will show you to the waiting room.”
Sienna thanked her and followed the woman from the room with Stacy at her side.
When they got to the waiting room, there were several people there and Stacy waved at an older couple.
They walked over to say hello, even though the woman looked like she had been crying.
“Hello Stacy, dear.” The woman said as she gave Stacy a gentle hug, and Sienna hated how sad the woman was.
“Brent, Grace, this is Sienna. Brek’s girlfriend. Sienna, these are Brek’s parents.”
Sienna bit her lip and blushed, wishing that they weren’t meeting this way.
The woman pulled her in for a soft hug. “Oh, my dear. Brent told me that Brek finally found his one. I am so sorry this happened to you.”
Sienna felt the heat in her eyes and when Grace pulled back she gave her a smile. “Thank you. I’m sorry this happened too. Seeing Brek hurt like that broke me. Having to see his pain and suffering was not something I wish to ever repeat. I just want to hug him and know that he will be okay.”
Grace wiped her eyes and blinked hard. “You love my son, don’t you?”
Sienna nodded, “Very, very much.”
Grace smiled and kissed her cheek softly. “Good. That is all that matters to me. Come. You should sit with us.”
Sienna looked up at Brek’s father and gave him a smile too. He also pulled her in for a hug, “Welcome to the family Sienna.”
He led her over to the chairs they were sitting in and Sienna had never felt more loved.
