They too had seen a lot, but when Reid had lifted her from the dumpster and had whimpered in his arms, the men all wanted to take away her pain.
Grayson said that he would keep them updated and they tried to help the family out in any way they could.
Kian and Reid had actually gone with the husband and helped tell the kids about their mom.
Roger and Isabelle had a beautiful home and beautiful kids, Steven and Jami. Their life had been ripped apart by this, it made Kian realize how fragile life was and it made him even more determined than ever to claim Karalee as his own.
He knew that it would take some time, but he would convince her.
He had seen the worst life had to offer, as had she, and he wanted to shield her from the perils and heartbreak.
He had tried to for years. He had let her down and would never do it again.
He dreamed about living in the small town that Gran was living in, and could see Karalee there, as his wife. Their children, happy and loved.
And yet, it was so far away as well, and he had a duty to uphold.
A job to do. He needed to find the man who hurt Isabelle and even though it was hard to once again let his dream die, he did so.
When they got back from cleaning and fixing Gran’s house though, they were in for a surprise.
Their sweet sister had a stalker. One that would not give up and had sent her disgusting things in the mail.
They were beyond pissed. For months she had this problem and hadn’t told them and now it was knocking on their door and she couldn’t keep it a secret any longer.
Kian hated that Isabelle’s case had to be pushed back for now, but as there were no witnesses, aside from her, and there were no cameras, the only thing they could do was wait.
Wait until she hopefully woke from her coma.
And he and Reid did all they could to find the man who was stalking their sister.
She was afraid and was grateful she was moving with Gran and hoped that being a few states away, that he would stop.
Kian had a feeling he wouldn’t, but let Emery go, and knew that they couldn’t stay away.
They did what they could to find him after she left, but the man was like a ghost and had no trace of his whereabouts.
And after Emery decided to move, he knew that he would have no excuse to see Karalee anymore.
She rarely came around as it was, being busy at her job as a waitress and trying to go to school at night.
He hated that he didn’t get to see her at all.
When Emery decided to move, he and Reid talked it over, and while they wanted nothing more than to find Isabelle’s attacker, they knew that they too needed a fresh start.
And so, they gave their notice. Their supervisor wasn’t happy but understood their need and want to live by their family.
And Grayson and Graham understood but hated that they were leaving.
Gray told Kian that he would keep them updated on Isabelle and that they would do all they could to keep helping her and her family.
He was thankful to Gray, and Reid was as well.
And even though he was leaving Karalee behind, he knew that it was probably for the best.
She didn’t have anything to do with him now. Didn’t acknowledge his existence in any way.
Hadn’t for years. And with each passing year, he felt his hope that she would be his die.
