Kian was happy that he was able to make it and knew that he had struggled to find a good person to take over for them for a few weeks.
He had finally found someone and left as soon as he could.
And Kian had picked him up from the airport early this morning.
And then had gotten ready for his first day of work as an official Deputy to the Sheriff.
He had pulled a uniform on for years, but this time felt different and he couldn’t wait to start his new job.
He already liked Brek and his wife Sienna and knew that whatever he had in store for him that at least he would have friends.
He was grateful for that and could only pray that Karalee would forgive him.

As the weeks went on, she showed no sign of forgiving him. But he did his best to get her to do just that. To get her to at least acknowledge him.
He ate at the diner every day and Mila was on his side, so she would reserve a table for him in Karalee’s section.
He would always bring her a flower, or something that reminded him of her and would leave those along with a note about how much he loved her on her bed.
He didn’t know what she did with them, but he knew that she didn’t throw them away.
And that was all he could be happy with for now.
She still didn’t talk to him much. He was so tired of her indifference but knew he would do what was needed to win her over again and wouldn’t push her into something she wasn’t ready for.
When Reid was finally let out of the hospital, his arm was still in a sling, and he had to go back in a few weeks for his last surgery, but his burn wounds had healed quite a bit.
There was just the tricky spot on his shoulder and since he needed his arm in a sling to heal from the rotator cuff surgery and the fact that his arm had been dislocated, was what needed to heal before they could do his next surgery.
The doctors gave him a warning to not overdo anything.
And Ailith wouldn’t let him anyway.
Kian snickered at how Reid would get frustrated because he couldn’t do what he wanted with his dominant arm in the sling, but he listened to his ma and stayed in bed.
She got both their tuxedos for Emery and Trace’s wedding and he helped Reid get dressed.
Reid wasn’t thrilled with it. But didn’t have much choice.
Kian helped fix his hair and was thankful that Reid’s hair was short.
He got dressed himself and fixed his hair, brushing his longer hair back into the faux hawk he had.
Although he wasn’t thrilled that he had to walk down the aisle with Sienna, instead of with his girl, he still hated that Brek got to walk with Karalee. He was only somewhat okay with it because Brek was very happily married to Sienna.
So as they walked down the aisle, Sienna smiled and was very pleasant to walk with.
The ceremony was beautiful and seeing how happy Emery and Trace were was something that made Kian wish it was him.
He stared at Karalee the entire time and watched as a tear slid down her cheek.
She was smiling the entire time looking at the couple and then she met his eyes.
He gave her a soft smile, and then mouthed that he was sorry and that he loved her.
She dropped her eyes and a blush crept up her neck to her cheeks.
