Then she dropped her arms, and he pulled her into his.
“You have nothing to worry about when it comes to me and women. I don’t see them that way. I never have. Only you. From the start.”
She put her head on his shoulder, “Okay.”
He smiled and kissed the top of her hair. “I have to get back to work. Do you want to talk after? I think we need to.”
She nodded against his chest and then he leaned down and kissed her softly.
She led him back through the kitchen, introducing him to Granny Beth and Grandpa Joe.
He gave them each a nod and pulled her into his side.
Granny Beth smiled at him, “It’s like that is it?”
He nodded, “Sure is.”
Karalee smiled and then he kissed her again and walked back to the front where he threw her a wink.
She smiled and he paid for his food, and then he walked out of the diner and got in his cruiser.
It was a fast drive to the station next door, and he grinned as he brought Brek his food.
Brek’s wife was there, and she was glowing. Her stomach was round, and Kian wanted that with Karalee more than words.
He handed Brek the bag, who immediately handed it to Sienna.
She laughed and kissed Brek and then hugged him.
Brek mock growled and pulled his wife back into his side and Kian laughed.
Then he went to his desk and ate.
His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he pulled it out to see who it was.
Karalee. He was shocked.
Karalee: Thanks for coming to see me today. I'm happy that we can talk tonight.
Kian: I'm happy too. And I come see my girl every day. Can’t go without my fix.
Karalee: Cute. I kinda like it.
Kian: Kinda? You wound me. :(
Karalee: I know you can handle it.
Kian: That I can. I can handle anything you throw my way.
Karalee: Be ready. I’ve got some doozy’s to throw your way.
Kian: Oh great. How am I supposed to focus on work now?
Karalee: ;) You can do it, you big bad cop you.
Kian: That’s damn right. See you at 6?
Karalee: Sounds good.
